"At ease everyone. Swords to Engineering, what's the engine status Mr. Dizz?" the Admiral said over the comm. "Matter/Antimatter flow is at 98% efficiency, injectors at full capacity, new defensive plans working. All systems check out, she's ready when you are Admiral". The Head Engineer said. "Good. Admiral to the Fleet, we're leaving. Ensign notify Base of our departure”. The Admiral replied, as the Comm-officer had already acknowledged. “Helm, go to maximum warp. Take us en route to Target Five.” “Aye, sir. Punching to warp..”. The Helm replied. Suddenly the stars outside of the holographic viewscreen starting to fade slowly, as they moved backwards, they suddenly jumped behind the ship. The bridge of the Moirades was quite an extraordinary one. The holographic viewscreen, which made it look like you were actually looking through glass, was surrounding the whole front area of the bridge. “Notify me when we’re entering VAK space, commander. I don’t want any surprises from our VAK friends. I’ll be in my ready room”. The Admiral said surely. __ I was already getting comfortable in my new quarters. I really expected some odd-looking, never-cleaned cabin but this was a nice quarters. I tried out the replicators, got some fresh water. As I was actually feeling quite comfortable, there was this certain frustration and fear deep buried deep inside of me. I knew we were going to be okay as a squad, but there was something I didn’t like about those VAK. It could have been all the aggressive and deadly reports I heard before, but it wasn’t just that. I was wondering why I didn’t just stay on the planet and live a happy life. Suddenly the doorbell went. I heard the Captain’s voice “Trooper, training time. Get geared up!”. WIJ’s holographic rooms were most impressive, they were capable of recreating an entire world, or, in this case, simulate real life combat scenarios. How much I loved hanging out on the beach using the holorooms.. “Alright troopers, I know you’ve had your long, long training behind you, but it’s time to refresh on the new situation. These VAK aren’t your usual cat in the tree”. The Captain instructed. “When the simulation begins we will be in a simulated dropping bay, you’ll get in your pods and drop down to the planet. Or what we think is the planet. Not knowing what’s coming is part of your job, and you know it”. “Computer, begin program Jones Beta Six”. The computer answered with an acknowledgement. Suddenly we were in the Moirades’ dropping bay. I was wondering how long it took the Captain to simulate this, even though I knew I had to focus on the training. “Good luck, Johnson. Just don’t take a nap again”. Trooper Merendez said to me. Getting put in another squad never made you the popular one. However this squad seemed to be rather calm. “You heard him Johnson, no naps”. The Captain said, while he closed my drop pod’s hatch. “Captain Jones here, systems check troopers.”. The Captain asked. “Charlie-One, all check out” “Charlie-Two, check out as well” “Charlie-Three, all systems check out” “Charlie-Four, everything okay in here” “Starting drop procedure”. The Captain said. Suddenly the interface on my right started counting down. I got nervous as it neared zero. “Who-ah, time to roll!” A trooper said as he dropped. Almost there.. two.. one.. Suddenly the ship shook wildly, with a brief explosion afterwards. This wasn’t the holographic ship, this was the real ship. The simulation suddenly stopped, we were back in an empty holoroom. All troopers and the Captain were standing next to me. “RED ALERT, ALL HANDS TO COMBAT STATIONS”. The Admiral said over the comm. “Those VAK really know how to time.. ugh, troopers, get settled, combat stations you heard the man!”. Loving the story and i cannot wait for it to continue, i do beleive it would be possible to make the training simulation room you was on about though?
