A new Instance called BrickAmbient that makes a brick give off an ambient that can be different from the ambient in Lighting. Here are some of the Properties that this new instance could have:
AmbientColor: Changes the color of the ambient
AmbientRadius: Size of the ambient (in studs)
Ambient FormFactor: Shape of the ambient, similar to brick FormFactor
Ambient VisibilityDistance: Like, for example, if you wanted to make fog. You could change the distance in studs that the camera can see around the character when you go inside the ambient area
Ambient RotVelocity: Similar to RotVelocity for bricks, but the ambient will rotate at the given velocity, you will not rotate around the ambient like you do with bricks
AmbientFade: Check box. When you check it, the ambient will fade in when you walk closer to the center of the brick (if you are inside the ambient's radius)
AmbientThickness: How thick do you want the ambient to be? A higher level will make the VisibilityDistance less no matter what you set it to, and it determines how easy it is for you to see anything around you while in the area (makes a good alternative to those noobish blank messages that pop up on ur screen when someone tries to make fog, it would be less laggy too)
AmbientIsBrickShape: The ambient takes the shape of the brick (this overrides the AmbientFormFactor property, it can be enabled or disabled at will)
Some things you could make with this new feature:
Lights for cars that actually look good
Alarm system lights for clan bases
Fire that actually looks good
Lights for inside buildings and variating brightness levels, making for a very realistic game
I hope you take my idea into consideration and i would like to see this sometime in the near future. But i am patient and am willing to wait longer if needed to.
Thanks,
