They dumped James off on the island, with only the supplies given and his M16. He began to look around the island. |

Dember landed roughly on the sand, as one of the boat passengers tossed him off. He spit sand out of his mouth and stood up, groaning from the pain. He looked straight ahead, into the dark, mysterious jungle. He had no idea of what lies ahead. He turned his head and looked around him, at the other kids who have all been dumped off the boat. |

Dember quickly scrambled to his feet and began running through the edge of the beach. He began to go deeper out at sea until the water was up to his waist. Only then did he spot the shark fin coming close. He swam back with amazing speed and flopped over onto his back, once safely back on the land.
"Sharks?" He said, in absolute bewilderment. "We're TRAPPED?!" |

He sat on the beach, as the sun slowly dipped beyond the horizon, surrounded by the other kids. He looked over at the bag he was given.
"What now?" He murmured to himself. |

I woke up to see several people surrounding me |

Appearance- Wavy brown hiar with light brown eyes. Caucasin.
Personality- Sarcastic/funny, if it calls for it ruthless. Kind to those she likes but for those she doesn't she is cold and assuming.

Weapon- light thin sword called a rapier

Dember gazed up at a cliff deeper in the jungle, until his eyes rested on a small dark hole near the middle. A cave? He thought. He looked at the other kids, then raised his voice and pointed to the cliff, where the cave was located.
"Look, all of you, if we are to survive, we've got to work together. There's a cave on that cliff. If we're lucky, we'll be able to reach it, and camp there. But we need a leader! Any volunteers?" He said. Despite his bravery, he couldn't lead a group of kids this large. If he messed up, he'd feel guilty for the rest of his life. |

"I'll do it" I said, Looking down for handholds. I Looked back. "Unless anybody else wants to. |

Dember shrugged his shoulders. "If you'd like, go ahead." He looked back at the sky, realizing it was getting too dark. "We'll leave tomorrow morning," He stated. "It's too dark to travel tonight. But we'll need some people to stay up tonight to stand guard."
Two boys, who looked about 13 and 16 stood up, along with a blonde-headed girl. Dember nodded, and then took out his rolled-up sleeping bag. Unrolling it, he slipped inside, with his sheathed longsword next to him, in case it was needed throughout the night. He instantly fell asleep. |

I lay on the ground but I couldnt sleep. Honestly I didnt know why. |

Dember dreamed of his life back home, having a laugh with his friends, his dad patting him on the back whenever he accomplished something, or when his 18 year old sister, April, would raise a fist and yell, "GET OUT!" whenever he was caught snooping around in her room. Then he was swallowed in darkness, and was being hung upside down, hovering above a giant, slimy green creature with its mouth opened wide-
Dember sat up, breathing heavily. He assumed it was midnight. Careful not to wake anyone, he slipped out of his sleeping bag and sat down by the water. |

I had the same dream as Dember but instead of a green slimy monster, it was a mechanical dragon |

Dember sat, his legs pulled up close, with his arms wrapped around them. He took a deep breath and stared out across the water.
"Why me? Why us?" He asked himself. "It isn't fair!" He shouted, a bit too loud. A few kids stirred, but turned back over and fell asleep. He had no idea if he woke anyone else up. |

He'd woken me up. A little light was on its way but the sun was not in sight. I took my scimitars and stuck them in the cliff face. I took one out and stuck it higher. I jumped on it and took the first one and repeated the system until I was at the cave. I peeked in. It was too dark to see. I thought, "It will be lighter in the daytime. I climbed down and waited for the rest to wake up. |

As the hours passed by, Dember's stomach began to grumble. Slowly, the others began to wake, rolling up their sleeping bags, getting their stuff together, and chatting quietly among eachother.
As for Dember, he continued sitting by the water, waiting for everyone else to wake up. Another kid, who must've been 16, promised sleep to the three kids who stayed up and watched. |

I told Dember about the cave and how I got up

I sat up, still half asleep. Ugh. I wish there wan't so much sand. I rolled up the sleeping bag rather sloppily. Too late to go back to sleep. |

Dember stared at Peter for moments before speaking.
"How will the younger ones reach the cave? Were there any ledges around it where we might be able to walk across?" |

"there were one or two. We could have everyone stay here and when I get up I'll throw the Scimitars down and the next one will come" I said |
|
|
Dember stood up, lost in thought.
"Alright... If the ledges are wide enough, the younger ones will cross there with one of the older guys. I suppose, the rest of us can take your way up." |

ok, but there is one part where the kids may have to stand on your shoulders. |
