I blew awake the smoke that rose from my AMT Hardballers. Wait! Don't move, the voice says from the PA. Discard the tranquilizer ammunition, please. There are six new magazines with real bullets next to you. Needless to say, this is not a toy! I snorted. As if I didn't know. Real bullets? Still, the questions ran through my mind. There was a blind spot in my head. As if there was a bullet shaped hole where the answers should be. I wanted to dig inside and scrape out the pain, that bullet. I did as the speaker on the PA said. The magazines filled with bullets were heavy. They were longer, much longer, so that must have meant there was more bullets. Strangely, they all had colored tape on it. Two had red tape, two had blue tape, and two had green tape. The voice reminded, Red means explosive rounds. It explains itself, of course. Blue means FMJ, full metal jacketed bullets, and green means nuclear, to melt strong metals and such. I growled in disgust. Proceed to the elevator, said the voice. I sprinted, holstering my pistols. Beep, beep. Elevator horrendously tortured my ears for the whole time. Ding! I gasped and walked out. I was greeted with a roar of applause. Amazing! Great! Perfecto! Perfect! I could have done better. I was bombarded with complimentation and such. Quite strange. Then, it got quiet. An awkward silence. Diana made her way through the crowd, a briefcase in hand. We weren't planning to give you this, she admitted. But your performance was exceptional. Here is a sniper. Just like that. I walk along the sidewalk, letting the breeze run through my jet black hair. One day wasted. Proper manners, demolitions, stealth, firearms. And I had no answers. And I was angry. Raging, deep down inside. This had to relate to my father. It was his line of work. That's what it was. He was a hired gun. A killer. And they were training me. They only cared for me, only for me to be their next protege. A prodigy. My shooting skills came from my father. I heard my name. Michael! Michael! Zackie came, running at top speed. There you are! There you are! She sounds relieved. I only gave her a look. I blinked twice. Then left, unbuttoning my stuffy suit. But she had caught me. Snared me within her grasps. Zackie was good at that. What's wrong? What's wrong? But I don't answer. Because I don't want to. I am tired, I say. I ignore her. But I cannot. Her voice is pleading. Begging. She was scared. Worried for me. Could I not speak to her? Assure her that I was fine? A lie, yes. But it would comfort her. But she would not listen. I have to go home to dad, she says, dejected. Uncle Zaahky, I remind. Yeah, she says. Gotta go! Bye! Adios. Chao! So many ways to say farewell and goodbye. First I am here. Then, all at once, I disappear. And then, I am there. A ghost. A demon. A spirit in the night. Specter.
