Reasons: Wearing that is like saying "He was awesome!" or "He is my role Model!" Don't know who he was? Well read this! Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia (1431–1476), also known by his patronymic Dracula (son of the Dragon (Vlad II) Dracul), and posthumously dubbed Vlad the Impaler (Romanian: Vlad Țepeș pronounced [ˈvlad ˈt͡sepeʃ]), was a three-time Voivode of Wallachia, ruling mainly from 1456 to 1462, the period of the incipient Ottoman conquest of the Balkans. His father was a member of the Order of the Dragon (Dracul) and Dracula means son of the Dragon to indicate his father's title within the Order of the Dragon. Vlad III is remembered for spending much of his rule campaigning efforts against the Ottoman Empire and its expansion[3] and for the impaling of enemies.[4] Already during his lifetime, his reputation of excessive cruelty spread abroad, to Germany and elsewhere in Europe. The total number of his victims is estimated in the tens of thousands[citation needed]. The name of the vampire Count Dracula in Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula was inspired by Vlad's patronymic. Don't know what Impaling is? Well heres the Definition! Impalement is the traumatic penetration of an organism by an elongated foreign object such as a stake, pole, or spear, and this usually implies complete perforation of the central mass of the impaled body. While the term may be used in reference to an unintentional accident, it is more frequently used in reference to the deliberate act as a method of torture and execution Short version: A guy sticks a stake (a sharp wooden pole) up another guys rear end until it comes out of their mouth!

If you think that is funny then imagine it happening to you! Not so funny now is it? Kind of a way to make you grimace in pain.

Not everyone looks at something they don't know, looks it up on Google and read it in wikipedia. Really though. You can say the same thing about Rome, or Assyria, or the Mongols, or any fairly large empire. Assyria systematically flogged, impaled, tortured, and a few other nasty stuff which I will not post before finally beheading them, and then tossing the heads in a pile, which I believe they burned. Rome just conquered, conquered, and conquered. They slaughtered several civilizations, and despite having brought roads and aqueducts and what-not, they did a few things that might seem a trifle harsh - after the 3rd Punic War, Rome tore Carthage to the ground and salted its fields, and after 4,000 (maybe 3,000) Spanish soldiers surrendered with the promise of being let go, were then massacred by orders of the Senate. Let's not turn this into a history lesson though. My point is, you really have to look deep into these ancient empires to find out how bad they really were. From a distance, a lot of these civilizations don't look so bad, and that's what's happening with Vlad the Impaler - no one's looking him up. Just forget about it.
