Management Biographies
David Baszucki - Founder & CEO
David is the founder, co-creator and CEO of ROBLOX. Prior to founding ROBLOX, David was a private investor. Previously, David was VP and General Manager of MSC.Software, where he ran the desktop simulation division. Prior to MSC.Software, David founded Knowledge Revolution and grew it to be the volume leader in mechanical simulation software and physics educational software. Knowledge Revolution was acquired by MSC.Software. Prior to founding Knowledge Revolution, David worked as a product manager and electronic designer. David was the General Motors scholar in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University.
Erik Cassel - Co-Founder & Chief Scientist
Erik is the co-creator of ROBLOX, where he holds the title of Chief Scientist. Prior to ROBLOX, Erik was Director of R&D at Outhink Inc., a startup developing P2P collaboration technology. Erik began his career as the 4th employee at Knowledge Revolution, where he became Vice President of R&D. When Knowledge Revolution was acquired by MSC.Software, Erik managed the engineers of the newly formed local division, was product manager, and served as chief technical liaison to corporate headquarters. Erik earned a BA in Physics from Cornell University.
Pierre Berkaloff - Vice President of Engineering
Pierre is the Vice President of Engineering at ROBLOX. Prior to ROBLOX, Pierre served as VP of Engineering at Colloquis, a Natural Language Processing "Software as a Service" provider acquired by Microsoft where he remained for 5 years after the acquisition. Prior to this, Pierre was developing 2D and 3D graphics authoring tools: first with Ray Dream, where he was the Chief Software Architect and Co-founder; then at Fractal Design, where he was the Director of Engineering; and finally at Metacreations, as VP of Engineering. Pierre earned a MS in Computer Science from École Centrale de Lille in France.
Keith Lucas - Vice President of Operations
Keith is Vice President of Operations at ROBLOX, responsible for scaling, site operations, and engineering management. Previously at ROBLOX, Keith led efforts in marketing, ad sales, customer service & moderation, and regulatory compliance. Prior to ROBLOX, Keith served as Director of Product Management at Enfold, an early stage health-IT company, and as Director of Internet Technology at Progio, a mobile fitness coaching platform. Keith co-developed the physics engine at Knowledge Revolution, and became an engineering manager at MSC.Software after the acquisition. Keith holds a Ph.D. in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Stanford University and a Masters in Public Policy from UC Berkeley.
Matt Finick - Vice President of Finance
Matt is Vice President of Finance at ROBLOX and is responsible for keeping the lights on. Prior to ROBLOX, Matt worked at Marvel Entertainment, where he initially built the team of analysts that handled all Forecasting, Strategic Planning, Analytics and Corporate development. After 4 years in NY, he transferred to LA, where he was the senior finance/operations executive that played a key role in successfully launching the studio division that self-produced the Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk feature films in 2008. Prior to working at Marvel Entertainment, Matt was a VP in Equity Research at Thomas Weisel Partners. Matt has a BS in Business from Skidmore College.
Clint Schmidt - Vice President of Marketing
Clint is the Vice President of Marketing at ROBLOX, responsible for customer acquisition, retention, monetization, and business development. Prior to ROBLOX, Clint served as VP of Marketing and Product Management at Livemocha, an online language learning company, and as Chief Marketing Officer at ZoomIn, India’s most popular photo sharing and printing site. Clint also held management positions at eBay, Half.com, and 1-800-Contacts, and has deep experience in leading high-growth companies. Clint earned a degree in Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
