Some of you probably already know im trying to learn the bass (i mentioned it pretty much times) I want to play bass with a pick,but wouldnt it be smarter if i first start out with the fingers? You know....to get that feeling Please reply ^^

I would say to start with your fingers. More natural and it's what most bassist do. But then again, I've never played bass.

I am a Bass and guitar player myself. Using or not using a pick depends of what type of music you want to play, for exmaple, a pick is used to play Metal, as the sound needs to be strong and powerful, but if you want to play something like Rock you must use your fingers. Experiment with both.

@kartixdx Well the main reason is because i want to play bass in a hard rock/metal style.

@durmiente Oh okay,i just found out that my bass for beginers book says the same thing. Maybe i should first stick with the fingers for a couple of months,and then use the pick some more.
