THE OAKLAND ATHLETICS WILL FINISH WITH THE WORST RECORD IN MLB. I can't believe them. <.< At the end of this season there was a lot of high hopes. We have a solid rotation, and might pickup and underrated possition player. Right off the bat, TRADE CAHILL, then a few weeks later, TRADE GONZALEZ.... But what made me just stop reading and be distressed, was that they traded piching for pitching, and pitching for underachieving hitting.

Well the book was published in 2003, and they were still very good untill 2006. Also the A's have been drafting great players, it's the injuries that costed them for the past 2 or 3 seasons. But in 2006 offseason, they traded so many players for prospects. The prospects were good but didn't get up to the majors fast enough.

but you forget that other teams read it the red sox snapped the curse by using moneyball tactics other teams copied them, used money to lure people in and became way better teams

They surprised even me. Billy made additions for power, and pitching. Got Reddy for Bailey: Bailey has been on DL all season. Reddy leads the team with almost 30 HRs. Got Norris and Milone for Gio: Gio is probably going to win the NL Cy Young, but the A's did get a solid young lefty, a minor league with extreme potential, and Norris who has a CANNON. Got Smith for basically nobody. Signed Cespedes. Much better than I expected.
