Sarkozy is actually just playing it safe while meeting his own agenda at the same time. As he desires a French directed Mediterranean Union, Turkey being a rising regional power, the two are bound to be at odds espeicially with France sneaking into their backyard. Not to mention the stuff with the Muslims, he is just riding the nationalist tide in Europe. |
