Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez said that after taking some contact in the Jets 29-14 loss to the Giants, an on-site medical official checked in with him to see if he had any concussion-related symptoms. "They just came in to talk to me," Sanchez said. "I guess they have someone in the booth who calls down and says, 'He got hit in the head. Talk to him.' I was in the middle of talking to (offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer) about plays, so the doctor looked at me and asked, 'Are you OK?' I said, 'Yes, I'm fine.' He asked if I was dizzy and I said no." The NFL instituted new rules this week mandating that an independent trainer be on-site at all games to assess possible head trauma. The NFL foots the bill. Sanchez has been hit quite a bit this season, and last week had an apparent pinched nerve in his shoulder irritated when he was hit. Morten P: I go to pieces.
