There is a difference between compiling a program instantly in '64-bit and compiling it for general ARM machines. Roblox would have to manually edit their program to use the extended addresses found in 64-bit hardware to 'boost' their game. Compiling a program for 64-bit machines would simply not do anything, except preventing 32-bit machines from running it. Further more, Roblox doesn't develop their game in Visual Studio, but in another kind of C++ IDE. If Roblox is a JIT (I really don't think so, but there's a chance that it is), Roblox should be automatically configured to use the extended addresses when you execute it. And this, will cause controversy.

I have noticed some people say "I have 64 bit OS already. Notice no difference" This is not about that. It's about improving gameplay experience, you bumbling windowlicker. I have to mention, however, that the majority of the people on ROBLOX are complete idiots. They wouldn't know the difference between the two OS types anyway. Nor would many of them actually have 64-bit OS's. That being said, I have a 64-bit OS and I would love to see this feature implemented. I get occasional FPS-lag spikes as well. I wholeheartedly support this idea.

"Compiling a program for 64-bit machines would simply not do anything, except preventing 32-bit machines from running it." Actually, compiling and optimizing a program 64-bit usage would simply do everything we've wanted in this thread; it would increase the amount of accessible RAM, give a nice performance boost, and utilize the OS' full capabilities. Moar readin' pls. Also, late bump.

@travddm I was talking about that part in the main post: "Also, in Visual Studio, I'm pretty sure that there's a one-click option to compile it to 64-bit." 1. Roblox is not compiled in VS 2. Compiling a 32-bit program in 64-bit without arranging the optimization and the usage of extended addresses (you need to do that manually in the game code) will simply make Roblox incompatible with 32-bit systems. And this, will cause controversy.

Eh.. You see, the point of the suggestions thread is to ask the developers to do a little bit of work to implement something useful, right? On the point of making it incompatible with 32 bit systems.. Have you ever heard of having both 32 AND 64 bit versions available? (I MUST BE A MADMAN11) If you're going to hit on a thread that obviously does have much wanted improvements that require a tad bit of work for developers, no.. Seriously, go.

The necro-bumping is ridiculous. This thread is old, so let it DIE. -April showers bring May flowers. Mayflowers bring pilgrims.-

I'm running Roblox on my 2-3 year old 64-bit Alienware M14x R2, no problems whatsoever.

I have a 64-bit OS and that'd actually be really, REALLY, useful, as my computer seems to hate 32-bit programs for some reason (or really any at all. My AMD driver is buggy as hell.) I support this c:

I support for the fact that I want to get rid of my Program Files (x86) folder. It's a bit annoying especially nowadays computers come pre-installed 64-bit while all the matter programs are 32 bit. I want a gaming PC, though :(. kthxbai ~TickTockClock (can you feel the laaaaaaaaa*crash*)

Support, Detailed games would run so much better. Also for people who like to use Kohls Admin and lag you out with Build Tools. At current moment. 4GB of RAM isn't good enough for that. Even on 64Bit. 8GB on 64Bit is enough to stop that lag out. Which I have no idea how that works. But they can render the game on another processor and their clients on another so it's smoother and faster CentOS-Web = /var/www/html/

@NovusTheory Yeah, but... My 64 Bit, 12 GB RAM, and 3.5GHz processor can't handle some of the larger moves. ,_,
