"Oh, joy. Now kids can really express their... "colourful" language. Cursing between each dang word...
Anyways,
"Online dating on this site seems unnecessary. ROBLOX should honestly just redirect them to something else more suitable. I don't find it a hindrance to creativity of the enviroment as Varp stated, but I find it quite annoying to hear people consistently typing things like, "*kiss*", mostly because they're kids."
I don't so much consider it a problem with creativity (that's mostly the problem with disallowing off-site links). However, your statement is precisely what I'm talking about by people taking it too far: there is a difference between the dangerous activity that Roblox seeks to disallow and roleplaying. The point where it becomes a problem is when people get too invested in fake relationships, but banning them doesn't exactly fix that problem. True, meeting in real life is also a problem however, we still have (and should have) a rule against giving out personal information even if we remove the online dating rule.
If anything, I think the online dating rule should be clarified to exclude short lived roleplay.
"Yes, that's right, they're kids. Age up, no age up, they're not going to instantly become teenagers. The age graphs may show much more liking towards teenagers, but it may teach the current children some bad habits (get on kid's sites and promote online dating)."
I doubt that anything as extreme as that would happen. Frankly, it would seem to me that the rules already created bad habits in the opposite direction - kids are being moderated too much. Is going "ODer hunting" on Valentine's day a good habit? No.
The only major change I really think should happen is that off-site links need to be allowed. The community would probably benefit from having more to talk about than just Roblox. |
