Who will win the 2012 F1 championship? Who will do well? Who won't do well? Who will be strong on certain tracks? ITS PREDICTION TIME

First things first I reckon the Red Bulls will be stron again this year, as will McLaren. Ferrari? Who knows. They haven't consistantly challenged for the title since 2008, when the cars were completely different.I think Lotus could have mixed fortunes, with 2007 champion Raikkonen returning but they have Grosjean who was terrible in 2009, but he has won the GP2 title in 2011.

*BREAKING NEWS* The innovative reight height control system developed by Lotus and then Ferrari has been BANNED byu the FIA. My predictions? Lotus may struggle now, like last year after the blown diffuser was copied by other teams Ferrari might have another difficult year, just like 2011, and 2009, and a bit like 2010 with inconsistancy

Not necasserily, with the new nose regulations, Red Bull actually have to design something new rather than just update the old one

I think that will help Red Bull racing... But it will help Mercades the most. Jenson Button might have a chance to surprise me. But currently it is Vettel's league to lose.

Oh yes, I'm certainly not going to go against you here, especially seeing Vettel's dominance on Pirelli tyres last year, but Pirelli say that the tyres will become softer this year, so it could well be Button taking a second title, especially as Vettel's tyres were marginal towards the end of the races

I agree but can he take it forward into this year? I don't know. He struggled taking his 2010 momentum forwards into 2011 but I reckon he might be able to start fairly strong

So with six races to go, who do you NOW think is going to win/lose/fail/crash in the final few rounds of the 2012 FIA Formula 1 World Championship

It's consistancy that has brought Alonso to where he is now, even at the start of the year when the car was rubbish. In the mid-season where it was equal to the McLaren and Red Bull, Alonso was dominant. Now, though, Ferrari are falling away from the front with their lack of development. This could be the part that costs Alonso the title. However, If he keeps driving like he is, the championship is Alonso's. Red Bull started the year with perhaps the third best car (after Lotus and McLaren) but they have made by far the most ground with their development this year. Webber could have been champion this season, but since his win at Silverstone he has lacked pace. Vettel has been the one who I feel should not have a shot at the championship. When the Red Bull was not a second quicker than everyone else he was moody (remember his complaints in Malaysia after he collided with Karthekayan who was behind him and Vettel swerved in front of him?)

McLaren started the year with the fastest car without a doubt, but strategy errors and poor pit stops mean that Hamilton is fourth after Singapore, with Button sixth. This season should be looked upon be the Woking boys as a failure as they could have taken their first drivers title since 2008 and their first constructors crown since 1998. There have been wins, but inconsistency has left them trailing in Ferrari and Alonso's wake Lotus had a competetive car at the start of the year and could have won a race or two, but for the erratic antics of Romain Grosjean. With SEVEN first lap accidents this season, he has cost Lotus so many points this season that his seatmust be in danger when his contract nears its end. The crash in Belgium was poor driving from Grosjean, who piled into the side of Hamilton, so a one race ban was understandable to say the least. Raikkonen has impressed on his return to F1, and could have taken the win in Bahrain, and Grosjean could have won in Europe. However, Lotus' development has, for the second year running, left them in the midfield, and for that they must look back on 2012 without a smile

Mercedes, like Lotus, started the year with so much promise. Promise, that has long since evaporated. A win for Rosberg in China and a podium for Schumacher in Europe (only thanks to Maldonado and Hamilton crashing, as well as Vettal and Grosjean breaking down) are the only consilations in what has been yet another disappointing year for the team that won the championship in 2009 (albeit under a different name). The double DRS was a fantastic idea in theory, but never really works due to the delay for downforce to return to the front wing after the DRS was closed. This has hampered Mercedes, and I don't think it will get any better in the final few races of 2012. They should be disappointed with thamselves. Williams have come from their worst ever year in Formula 1 to bounce back with their first win since Brazil 2004, but it hasn't all been plain sailing for the team that dominated the 1908s and 1990s. Bruno Senna, whilst not sensationally quick, has delivered some solid performances for the team, whilst Pastor Maldonado has ruined his teammates' hard work. Although Pastor won in Spain, he hasn't scored a point since and has had another year full of crashes, controversies and penalties. Considering that Romain Grosjean has received a once race ban, it is surprising that Maldonado hasn't got one for himself. You have to ask yourself the question: how many points and millions of pounds has Pastor Maldonado cost Williams with his frankly dangerous driving? An improvement for Williams over last season, but If Maldonado doesn't get his head in gear he may well kill someone by the season's end

In terms of the constructors championship I've got to say it will be close between McLaren and Red Bull. I think Red Bull may have enough in hand to cover the McLaren attack...but only if Webber starts getting better results

McLaren Reliability (sigh) means only Ferrari and Red Bull can win the constructors crown Only Alonso and Vettel can win the drivers championship
