I'm having a lot of trouble getting past this creative block of mine for this idea I had. I need to build a space station which is large enough to support an infection type game, and every time I try to place the bricks it just comes out flat blocky and I can't seem to get anywhere from there. Anyone have any helpful suggestions? |

Learn to CFrame is all I can say , without knowing what you mean by flat blocky. Cframing allows you to put blocks into each other to make nice curves and circles.
You could also add blockmeshes to your bricks to smooth the edges and take away the brick on brick look. |

That's not what I'm talking about. I just can't get the feel for how to build this thing-I don't know where to start construction. I know how to use CFrames, but that doesn't help me when I don't have a clue where to start. |

Start with the core first, then build outwards, or you could always start building the spawn room, and move through the space station from then on. |

No problem, and good luck. |

UPDATE: alright, I've made a lot of progress. I seek a second opinion to make sure I'm on the right track.

Someone want to come and tell me if it looks good so far? |

Very nice, could use a bit of cframing to make it look nicer, but yeh, it's good. P.S: It looks more like a spaceship rather than a space station. |

Yeah, I decided to build a giant spaceship instead.
Thing about CFrames is that I'd have to go through all the pieces and decide which of them needed to be grouped together with a weld scrip, and which needed to be excluded for some reason or other--yes, there are certain reasons that I can't anchor everything.I'll get to it eventually |

So for reasons I was unable to grasp, my ship got all screwed up. Pieces got .01 out of position, but I didn't notice it and now I've been forced to start over. Hopefully it's better now. I'm not placing the outer walls yet, but don't worry about that. I'm planning to put triangles on the top and bottom edges of the walls to make it interesting. Tell me what you think. |
