Hi
Recently I have been receiving messages from people who simply hate me (trolls etc)
I use the report option many times but nothing seems to happen and I continue to receive messages from these people.
Yes I know you can disable messaging but then that stops you from messaging people like friends and family.
What I am suggesting is the ability to block individual players from messaging you. The way that it would work is that when blocked the message would not be sent through so it would not be received and as an extra option the sender could have a message sent back to them informing them that they have been blocked.
As a further feature roblox should feature an ignore list or block list so a blocked player could not locate you at all. Because even if you disable the follow option a player could still see which game you are in and just look down the server list for you. If blocked the blocked player would not be able to search for you when searching a player under the people tab (the player simply would not show up on the list) and if the blocked player clicks a link of the person (Example - on forums or when a game is selected they can click the creators name) it would come up with a screen similar to the one shown when someone is banned.

Ok then lets break this down.
@bunny if you read my post fully you would of seen that I stated that you could turn messaging off but then I would not be able to message friends.
Setting to friends only would help but then it has it's disadvantages.
Someone who got hacked might want to make a new account - How would they get in to contact with you
Someone wants to ask for builing or script help through PM. I think it is good to help people as long as they dont beg and that the messages are worded well enough
Someone wants to send a game suggestion or a group application.
There are many more
Also you could say "not this post again" but as you can see I put a lot more detail in to it explaining advantages and disadvantages - before commenting it would be a good idea if you read each and take each one in to consideration - trolling and abuse causes many people to quit roblox, death threats that I have received can traumatize sensitive people.

This is ridiculous. Let's say you have a specific stalker/flamer, and you're the leader of a group/buisness and need to recieve PMs. You keep your friends list friends only.
SO YOU SHOULD HAVE THIS OPTION.

With a friends request, it could easily be someone else. So you can send messages with friend requests but people hardly ever read them so just sending a friend request would be extremely unreliable.

Also supporting alphas point most people want to keep their friend list for just friends like I do. I see players with over 1000 friends and I am thinking "why the hell have you got many friends"
How are you supposed to find you real friends if you have that many who you do not talk to
The in game friend request was a bad idea and people just started friending everyone in the server. I will not go into more detail on that otherwise I am bringing up a different topic.

First off I do not live in the US so our grading works differently to yours.
Also I am passed middle school and finishing upper school. I am applying for what is called sixth form were I will take my A-level courses and after that I will move on to university. I will not go in to anymore otherwise this thread will become a large scale arguement. All I can really say is try not to bring off topic content onto the thread, this thread was nothing to do with acting smart. I also believe that you got that equation off of the internet.

Frist off,
just stop with the grade ranting. You don't know if someone could be lying or typing the truth, so just drop it. Second, the thread starter has excellent grammar, but he doesn't seem to use commas when he should. Oh well... As for the idea, I support. I sometimes get spam messages from the same person, or from my guess, alternate accounts made from the same person. I strongly hope the administrators apply this to the site. |

Thanks for the support. I tend not to worry too much about grammar as long as I write in formal language, punctuation etc comes natural to me.

Facebook is not the only website that does block and ignore lists, Many others do. It is definatly needed on roblox especially because roblox is a social based online website rather than an mmorpg.
