I've been trying to learn russian. I'm a super-beginner, about equivalent to two class sessions, maybe three. I'm trying to learn the Slavic alphabet, but I'm stuck. Can I get help about this from Russian speakers? Thanks!

Hello. If you need help with the Russian alphabet, don't hesitate to ask me. Some people learn languages faster than others, which means they have a strong cognitive memory. Native English speakers with strong cognitive memories would be able to review the Russian alphabet for only fifteen minutes and memorize it pretty well. I'll give you some letters that look and sound the same as they do in English, just to start. А, е, к, м, о, and т are the equivalents to a, e, k, m, o, and t. So they're the same as in English.

Hello in Russian is привет / priviet. If you were speaking formally in Russian, you'd say здравствуйте / zdravst-vuite instead of привет.

Anyways, if you can't learn the alphabet, I can teach you some basics. How are you: Как дела / Kak diela? Good: Хорошо / Harosho Bad: Плохо / Ploha

Is it okay if I ask you what "I like you because of your personality" means?

"Is it okay if I ask you what "I like you because of your personality" means?" You can't really say "I like you" without it being love, if that's alright. Я люблю тебя, так как ваша личность - желательна. Ya lublu teba, tak kak vasha lichnost - zhelatelna.

"gosh gosh i would teach him the symbols, vowels, and sounds like x (h) because many people cant say it with out sounding like a dying fish" X is kh. Most of the time, it's pronounced like a gutteral h.

"The only thing I know in Russian is Sasha, which is Alex in Russian." Sasha is a diminutive name. There are people in Russia called Aleksandr, Aleksei, or Aleks... Sasha is just a commonly used nickname for them. "Я очень хорошо" AlvAlv might not know the Cyrillic alphabet. Care to transliterate?

"I'm pretty good at russian. I have memorized the cyrillic alphabet" The Cyrillic alphabet is actually pretty easy. Just because you can transliterate Russian, doesn't mean you can translate Russian. So what do you know about Russian, besides the alphabet?
