Jessica
I stared at the knife, halfway across the room. I screamed in Hayden's face and punched him until he was knocked out. I sat alone in the opposite corner of the room. |
Jessica
I stared at Hayden's limp body. I slowly began to gain my sanity. Bits and pieces of my happiness were regained.
Slowly, slowly. |
Hayden
I blink. Once, twice, three times before I regain focus. I sit up and stare into the distance for a moment.
"Do you hear that?" I ask, even though there wasn't a sound to be heard. |
Jessica
I look up to see Hayden awake. I look both sides. "All I hear is my fist repeatedly going into your face." I say, clasping my hands over my ears. It is true, I still hear the terrible punches meeting Hayden's face. |

Jessica
I look up to see Hayden awake. I look both sides. "All I hear is my fist repeatedly going into your face." I say, clasping my hands over my ears. It is true, I still hear the terrible punches meeting Hayden's face. I still hear them and they won't go away. I shut my eyes tightly and press harder on my ears. "Make it stop." I mutter. |
(Oh my god that thing FOLLOWS ME AROUD)
Hayden
"No," I say, thinking she might attack again.
"I don't hear riots outside!"
I get up ad peek through a window.
"Streets empty. Anyways, why isn't Bella Walker with you?" |
Jessica
I stared blankly at Hayden. Why was he talking to me so normally? "Make the sounds stop." I muttered. I looked at the knife again. The knife was my friend, wasn't it? |
Hayden
When Jessica doesn't awnser I just assume Bella Walker is dead. I notice her stare towards the knife. I pick it up and slip it in my belt.
"I don't need you slitting either of our throats." I say, tossing her an apple to eat. |
Jessica
"What about choking on this?" I asked holding the apple, a nasty look in my eyes. |
Hayen
"Good point. Give it back." I say, walking towards her and plucking the apple from her hands. I take a bite and toss it in the air repeatedly. |
"I'm hungry." I growled. I held my hand out for the apple. |
Hayden
"Well this is my apple!" I say in a kindergarten voice. I get another apple and toss it to her.
"If you choke you better know that I know the heimlich." I say in a normal tone. |
Jessica
I held the apple in my hand and stood up. I grasped it tightly, then threw it at Hayden's face. The anger swelled up inside me once again. Why wouldn't he just let me die? Why couldn't he stop caring for me? |
Hayden
I flinch. This was getting tiring. |
Jessica
"Can I have the knife, please?" I asked in my most persuading voice. "I'm sorry about the apple, I just get those phases." I looked at where the knife was being kept. I slowly extended my hand delicately. |
Hayden
I frown and say,
"What are you gonna do with it?"
I knew she'd lie, but I wanted to know what she'd come up with. Did she really think I was THAT dumb? |
Jessica
I kept my gaze locked with Hayden's eyes. "I'm going to slit your throat and then paint pictures with your blood, like I did to the rioter. Then, I will cut my tongue off so that I will never have to lie." I said. |
Hayden
I looked into her eyes. She was never going to be the same. Evil lurked in her eyes. I took all the weapons and did a risky move. I gave them to her, sitting each gun and knife in front of her and closing my eyes. |
Jessica
I looked at the weapons. Knives, guns, death machines. My eyes flickered from them to Hayden. Hayden's eyes were shut, he was waiting for me to make my move. I though that I might as well. I took the weapons that belonged to me, set them in an orderly fashion, and walked out of the room to be alone. I laid in a seperate room and curled myself up into a little ball. What was wrong with me? I softly cried myself to sleep. |
Hayden
I hear footsteps and open my eyes. I have to admit, I was a bit suprised to NOT see my blood everywhere. Jessica was gone, not in sight. None of the front barricades were gone, though. And I didn't think she knew about the secret entrance in the bathroom. She went into another room, the janitors closet or garage maybe. I sit down on the pallet I had slept in the past week or so behind the counter and started drinking a sports drink. What if I was going crazy? Letting her try to kill me!?
As I thoought about these things, I remembered my litle sister. The one who got mad one day and tried to stab us with a butterknife. She had been taken away not long after that, and I had not seen her since. That was when I was about 3. I drift off to sleep, the happy yet frightening thought lingering in my mind. |
Jessica
I woke up and knew that Hayden was still in the other room. I decided to scare him, a little sinister prank. I screams loudly, then shot a bullet at the roof. Maybe he would think I killed myself. I smiled. |
Hayden
I shot up and grabbed a pistol. I run into the room Jessica was in and shoot randomly, thinking she was attacked. I missed her, thank god.
"Sorry about shooting... I thought rioters got in..." I say. I was afraid she'd either kill me or herslef now. |
Jessica
I aimed a gun at Hayden and pulled the trigger. It wouldn't budge. The gun was out of bullets. I leaned my head back, letting my hair fall with it. I began to laugh wildly. "You should've shot me just now." I said, continuing to laugh. |
Hayden
"Why on Earth would I kill you?!" I ask, with annoyance, ignorance, irritation, anger, ad sadness all in one tone. |
