What is the best (free) in-game recording software?

what is the best in game recording software that is free? I wish to start filming, and I've tried hypercam 2, but it lagged my computer to death! I would like to know if there is a lag-free camera that can work for those with average to bad connections. Thanks!

fraps but its not free,camtasia 30 days trial but u have to configure it to work good
