If you find this thread too long, perhaps it is worth just reading the first few paragraphs.
Many people in ROBLOX have the idea of building homes and villas, towns and cities. Yet what would it be like really living in them? My suggestion is very simple: in the top-left hand corner of the screen, there is a small button with the letters "To R." in it. Hovering over this button will give you a quick information of your residence (e.g. where you will spawn, name of place, place id). Pressing it will instead create an instant teleportation to your home, with the GUI of "Do you want to leave or Stay?" popping up as well, as though you stepped on a place teleporter.
You can select your residence in two methods - either in Studio Mode, where there is a new "Residence Tool" that allows you to click in any place and make that your spawn and the place your residence, or otherwise by "Configure My Item". If you do it via Configure My Item, you do not have the option to select where you will spawn and will simply spawn in the Neutral/Team Spawn.
This is the basic outline, which, if this suggestion is made, should be released first. Yet for me it is too simple, and I wish to expand with another suggestion concerning residences. With my suggestion above, we can choose to make our places residences, but we cannot choose to make other people's places residences.
Say my friend owns a game called "City Of Hello", and builds a house for me that I wish to make my residence. My friend must send me a Residence Request by going to my profile and clicking "Request Residence" where the Send Message, Friend Request and Invite to Party options are. The request form is simple: you must write the correct Place ID, optional co-ordinates of spawn and an optional message. I must then choose whether to allow "City of Hello" as my residence by accepting or declining the request. There should also be an option for payment (further updates could start a renting trade).
Now, say I decline his request and he sends me five other requests. Like other settings, you can change who can send requests to Friends, Noone, Best Friends and Everyone.
I have not quite covered where other people can see our residences. Simply, it is automatically shown on our profiles beside our Primary Group, and clicking a residence will take you to the place's profile.
Now then, some people may wish to live in more than one place. I do not see why people would need more than three residences, but nevertheless NBCers can live in up to three places, BCers to ten, TBCers to twenty and OBCers to thirty. This may slowly take the top-left hand side of your screen, so perhaps an open/close residence option button is easier.
And so, I conclude my simple suggestion and ask your supports, critisism and questions.

if you would like proper worlds.. this would be well too laggy to run on the roblox servers
and if you only want, well small servers.. we ay aswell all use town places. |

I see what you meant but maybe I could add a bit on.
How about... Roblox makes ROpartments, where you can live or have a roommate. And there would of course be rent, but maybe something cheap like 10 tix a week? |

Thank you, Kirby. I've had many other great ideas in the past that are simple but just make life easier (for example, ability for ANYONE in a group to run ads for it without having to go to another site!) |

No, that will open up a way for exploiters. Dev's would have to do a LOT more than just make a button in the corner. They would have to exploit-proof the teleport, and so on. Remember the Toolbox exploit where many people would just insert ROBLOX models? I knew that, and trust me, that'd me so easy to use as an exploit. Also, it's not needed a BIT. You see, people can JUST USE THE WEBSITE, and get to the game. It's not that hard. No support. |

My point is that people are fear-mongering over exploiters when all they are are idiots inserting weapons that hardly hurt your character. |
