44 years ago, a great war known as the Valbanill War ravaged the land. One of the war's most dangerous weapons was the Demon Contract, where humans sacrifice their bodies to become powerful demons. Unlike prayer contracts which use Tamahagane as a catalyst, a demon contract uses the human sole. When a demon contract is completed, that person is changed into a demon in exchange for obtaining something they desired. In the Valbanill War, those who signed demon contracts were used as weapons. Once the sole has been offered, there's no way to ever get it back, it's all part of the sacrifice. In order to win, Valbanill was determined to turn every human he found into a demon. Every person has a death song engraved upon their heart. Each one is different; unique to the person. One's death song must be read if one wants to sign a demon contract. There are many ways to read a death song. Usually the person is drugged with a prayer contract, once they're unconscious their chest is sliced open and the death song is written down. Sometimes the person is forced to read their own death song using a mirror. It's the ultimate sacrifice a being can make. Realizing the damage the contracts have caused the land, the surviving nations made peace and banned the use of the Demon Contracts.
Housman, one of the cities of the Independent Trade Cities, a democratic federation of cities, is home to the Knight Guards. The Knight Guards of Housman were founded to protect the citizens of Housman and all cargo within Housman. After the war ended, the Cambell family served as knights protecting the city's independence. The Cambell family is a well known house within Housman, but even they have a thinned out family.
Another important family is the Firobisher family, or in other words, the family of the Emperor. Members of the Firobisher house carry the proof within their name by having an "E" as their middle name, indicating their seat within the royal family. They are all initially portrayed as spoiled and selfish, due to this, they are usually never out in public and if they are, they are avoided like the plague.
Very recently, reports have said that there have been battles between comrades for swords. However, the swords have been said to possess great power, each with a unique way of fighting. Whoever wields one of the swords holds an elemental power stronger than any spell an alchemist can conjure. The swords have the ability to keep a human form to hide their existence when needed, to protect themselves and others. From the information the Knights have gathered, the people have been calling them the Demon Swords. A Demon Sword in human form must chant a certain phrase that releases their power and transforms them into their sword form. No one knows the mystery behind the Demon Swords creation, but everyone is certain that they were made to destroy the being known as Valbanill. Valbanill is a despicable being who has sent out messengers to turn as many humans into demons as possible. Even though the war is over, Valbanill is still continuing to deem himself as a God while others who have suffered and lived through the war are motivated to slay Valbanill himself.
Valbanill will fall.

-Everyone is human, basically; however, if someone wants to be a Demon Sword, please ask beforehand, I'll have a form for it.
-Please involve as many people as possible so we don't have the loner character wandering about with nothing to do.
-Not everyone can have a Demon Sword and you can't just suddenly have the bloody thing or have several. If I allow you to have a Demon Sword, then you have one; that's it.

Appearance: Has waist length midnight black hair and her bangs barely cover her right eye. She has harsh, narrow eyes that are a deep grey and almost black. Despite Akira's soft facial features, her sickly pale skin tone almost diminishes that factor. She's around 5'8" and not particularly scrawny. She wears a low cut long-sleeved black shirt with a crimson corset setting on top, a somewhat short black skirt with a silver lining across the bottom, a two inch wide red ribbon as a belt, thigh-high charcoal stockings, knee-high armored boots/heels, light metal gauntlets, and an armored collar that covers her neck. Akira also usually wears a black cloak to hide herself.
Occupation: Nothing yet; planning to be a blacksmith.
Weapon: Demon Sword Serena
Personality: Very self-reserved and quiet; isn't one to show emotions.
Bio: Akira was just a child when she found Serena and discovered her powers. Due to the power she possesses, Akira rarely ever has Serena change into her sword form. Akira believes that Serena shouldn't know pain and suffering because of what she is, so she protects her.

She wears black sandal heels with straps winding around her calves and has black lace gloves.
Sword Appearance: Has a silvery white metal and is about three and a half feet in length. The hilt is the shape of a simple snowflake and the handle is wrapped in a white ribbon with about a foot extending off of the end. On the blade itself is a faint swirl design that starts at the hilt and falls about a third of the way down the blade.
Personality: Rather kind and obedient, yet she can easily be infuriated.

The Sword is the being itself, the Demon.
The Sword has its human form and then the main form which is a sword.
The chant is only used when the Sword is in its human form in order to release the power and revert back into the sword form.

Human Appearance: Drogan wears a black t-shirt with a chain mail vest under it, he wears simple blue pants with spiked black boots, finger less gloves, raven black hair spiked upward, 6' 5" brown eyes, pale skin, along with Drogan is a shadow which sometimes acts independently, like moving when he has stopped.
Sword Appearance: The sword's appearance is a midnight black with a leather strap wrapped around the hilt, the guard is in the shape of a demonic face with a sharpened teeth, the blade has several curved spikes diverging from the blade.
Personality: Drogan has little patience, and often has bouts of cruel behavior, but he is loyal to his subordinates.

Transforming Chant: "Unleash the fury of shadows, to create chaos and destroy, to bring the darkness of earth and slay god."
Bio: Drogan has had to crawl his way up in the streets of Housman, he has taken control of a small crime syndicate using his natural strength. He uses his syndicate to help himself survive. Drogan has faced off against the city guard multiple times, and has multiple wanted posters around the city.
