How come LeBron James is constantly mocked for not having a ring, and abonding the Cavs to go to greener pastures and a better chance at winning a ring, when Karl Malone did the exact same thing, yet is considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time?
Bear in mind that Malone lost back to back series, even with John Stockton, often considered the best point guard of all time. |

@bryant
way to completely avoid the entire point of the argument
all of that applies to karl malone. you either have to tell me that karl malone is either not one of the greatest of all time for losing two championships (like LBJ) even with the greatest point guard of all time and for abandoning his team (like LBJ (p.s. LBJ never promised cleveland a championship)) or you have to agree that lebron is one of the greatest of all time, and that rings don't matter.
and judging by the fact that you know jack about NBA history, and like the lakers, you're only watching the NBA because you're on the lebron hate bandwagon. |

LeBron James will eventually win a ring in 99.999999999999% of circumstances anyway.
And it's unfortunate that Michael Jordan didn't get called for an offensive foul on "The Shot". That's the only reason Malone has no ring.

Karl Malone did not "team up" with 2 other franchise players to try to win his ring. They were both brought up through the draft by the Jazz, like Westbrook and Durant were for the Thunder. |

Stockton and Malone = probably most underrated pair in NBA history.

@paco
he went to los angeles with shaq and kobe
@bryant
he was only injured in 2004, when playing with the lakers for the finals
the other two times, he lost |

"he went to los angeles with shaq and kobe"
But only for his final season. At that point, Malone was way past his prime.

-------------------------------------------------
For one year, when he was 40, when the Jazz didn't pick up the last year of his contract. |

1. michael jordan wasn't invincible. he did lose a lot in the playoffs
2. and tyson chandler and jason kidd |

"For one year, when he was 40, when the Jazz didn't pick up the last year of his contract."
he can
1. retire
2. play for another team that wasn't the stacked lakers
but no, he chose to play with a stacked lakers team because winning a ring was so important to him |

Ever think maybe the Lakers were making a playoff push and wanted him on their roster, so they offered him the most money out of any other team that wanted him? |
|
|
>playoff push
they won the championship two years beforehand, completing the threepeat, and had shaq and kobe
how much more do you need to make a playoff push? |
|
|
|
they had no depth at forward; their next best true forward besides Shaq was Stanislav Medvedenko, who averaged 8 and 5. |
|
|
yes, those problems were so huge, the lakers had a threepeat with those two |
|
|
|
they still made the finals
it's not like it impacted them terribly |
|
|
|
okay
they still made the finals |
