If you do research, they don't copy each other. Minekraft is BASED OFF Infiniminers, not a copy or a rip off.

I personally used to love MC and only started ROBLOX because someone on Monkey Quest (a great game closed down by the greedy idiots known as Nickelodeon :d) and because I wanted it because I couldn't get MC. My parents would just give me that free Alpha-ish version to try stuff out, y'know. After some time, I got curious, so I used the ROBLOX wiki, a Minecraft Wiki and Wikipedia to see when which game was made. What I made out of it was that ROBLOX's idea was created in the later '90's, although it only started development in 2004. MC was inspired by Infiniminer and personally, once I found out about that, I really lost interest in it. Everything that was so special to MC to me (the retro graphics, the cubes, the mining...) was just taken from that game. It's not a rip-off, it's just like it used that game as an inspiration and slowly, MC got more original things that Infiniminer didn't have. Kind of like ROBLOX with LEGO.

MC started development in 2002, though, which is before ROBLOX started development. ROBLOX's concept, however, was made in the late '90's. "1T'$ @N £3G0 R1P0FF!" Nope. Read my last post: if one considers ROBLOX as a LEGO ripoff, he/she is ought to call Minecraft an Infiniminer ripoff, too. ROBLOX and Minecraft are both building games, but Minecraft wasn't the first one. Neither was ROBLOX. ROBLOX is different from LEGO because it allows players to build in ways LEGO doesn't: you can scale, change colours, material, surface... But it also involves scripting often, quite a lethal part to making a quality game. Whereas Minecraft isn't very much about scripting. Yes, you can make mods, but they never have the same feeling as Vanilla, no matter how minor the changes are. ROBLOX is about creating, and many things that can only be done in mods from Minecraft can be made simply with little to no scripting knowledge in ROBLOX(or just look up something in the search bar for freemodels but ok ._.).

Minecraft didn't start development in 2002, it started development in 2009 May. It wasn't officially released until 2012. Roblox started development in 2004. The original idea for Roblox was in the late 90s.
