There is no real way to make light at the moment, however, you can make things transparent, go to studio, go to the brick you want, go to properties, click transparency, when there, set the transparency level (0.1 being the lowest transparency, 0.9 being the highest.)

There's "Lighting", an important service in the game that contains the skybox. It has brightness, hue, and fog properties that effect the entire light of the game. You can edit these properties in the game with scripts, but the Lighting effects all players in the game the same way. Bricks also have a property known as "transparency". 0 is not transparent, 1 is completely transparent, and any decimal between those two numbers is kind of like glass.

If you don't know how to get to studio, go to the start menue, and search and/or click roblox studio, then go to your game, and click edit.

You can't make light, although you can create a flashlight tool and set the property to extremely light with 0.5 transparency. It never fails to amaze me that the thread creator doesn't know how to make Transparent bricks. Hint hint: http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php/How_To_Make_A_Transparent_Brick

People need to use the R-Wiki! The wiki is great, there is even an app on the app store if you want to use it on your ipod.

I agreed with matt. 75% of the posts made in Scripting and Building helpers could be gone if everyone would learn to use it.

We'll... I guess if you make a model that looks like a lamp, and make a brick with a transparency of 0.5, it may look like light if it was yellow... My friend has done that in his games... But it doesn't really look that good.

TERRAIN! GET IN HERE! But seriously, TerrainCrypt has a lighting system he's working on, I've been yelling at him for a while to publish it. Lulz, on my laptop.

I know how to make dark. Go to the Lighting object in your Roblox Studio Explorer. Go to properties.Make sure the GlobalShadows value is checked. This is what enables dynamic lighting in your place. Find the Ambient and OutdoorAmbient values. Set them both to black, or 0, 0, 0. Finally, set the time of day to midnight, or 00:00:00.

You can make bricks light up by following these steps 1. go to Roblox Studio 2.Go to insert object and click 'Part' 3.Go to explorer and highlight 'Part' 4.Then go to insert oject again and click SpotLight or Pointlight(Pointlight is much better when you have a dark room.) 5.Then paint your part new yeller aka very bright yellow. 6. Go to explorer again and highlight Pointlight or Spotlight. 7. Open up properities and edit the light. 8. First you're gonna change the range and make it between 20-40. 9. Then you're gonna change the color of the light so it's the color of the brick. 10.Anchor you're part to something. BOOM!!! That simple, just remember to follow these steps. P.S. If it's at an angle you don't want the light to face at, the I prefer you using spotlight because you can actually edit the angle. That's all.
