CameraGUI Object is a fairly simple idea. It is a type of frame, which holds a CoordinateFrame and a Focus, and displays a secondary view in this frame. This would be useful for adventure games which require sneaking. Also, CameraGUI's cameratype would be locked at "Scriptable", so that the camera cannot move. This would also open the opportunity to switch between cameras and take control of it. I don't know why this wasn't suggested yet.

Copying the view to a render target will be slow if it needs to be updated often like you're planning.
