I was looking through the different membership prices 2 days ago and i saw the lifetime membership and the price for it. So i looked at the outrageous membership and i saw the "outrageous" price of 349,95$ I didn't know exactly how much 349,95$ was in Swedish "kr/kronor" so i checked a converting website and it turned out to be ~2700kr O.o .... That's more than halfway to a decent gaming computer here in Sweden. For the same price i could buy ~27, 100kr games.
I feel like it's not worth it, there's just to few features with ROBLOX membership for me to even get close to buying that membership. Even if i had twice the money i wouldn't spend it on a lifetime membership.
Why not base the lifetime membership price on the "big" games out there?
I could easily find a store online or IRL that would sell games like Skyrim or such for 50$ or less and that's still one of the "biggest" games out today. Even new games go for as little as 60-70$
I don't think you're going to actually lower the price just because of this thread but i think it's a pretty sick price. MMO or not. |

That reason is that lifetime is supposed to last you forever.
Which makes it four times as expensive as a year, because roblox predicts the average person plays roblox for four years. If you have lifetime for five or more years, it's a bargain. |

I see what you mean with your argument BUT the thing is, I can buy Skyrim and I can play it for as long as I want without anyone telling me "You're not allowed to play anymore", I buy the game, I own it forever.
The same goes for ROBLOX. They are both just games. No matter what kind of games, what game and how long they predict I will play. |

They aren't part of either game; they are optional add-ons. |

Frozen, last time I rembered Dawnguard doesn't last a month. It lasts FOREVAR.
So, unless we have to spent 300+ USDs on a single ad on, thats a problem.

Why in the world would we spent 300+ USDs on OBC Lifetime? WHY?!
You could go buy MC, multiple XBOX 360/PS3/Other Console games, and still have money left over. About 1/10th of OBC, and you get MC FOREVAR. Not OBC though. That's about 1 month for the same price...

In fact, only the admins do.
They could nearly be bankrupt for all we know?
Oh, you just assume that the staff of roblox live in a mansion made out of solid gold and chair-race all day? Nope, they don't. Isn't even enough gold dug up ever for that....
We don't know if they are greedy. So why assume?

Also, minecraft is not a subscription purchase, so you cannot truely compare them. |

ROBLOX is a company. The point of a company is to make products, and sell them for a profit.
300+ Dollars, is an awful large margin for profit.
Look at Microsoft. XBOX Live. They have monthly fees, but they have more things, you can communicate better, and dozens of other things ROBLOX has. They have MANY games you can play. They have MANY things you can do. On ROBLOX it's about four things:
Build
Forum
Play
Talk
That's about it. "Oh, trade and stuff"
Because buying pixels is really filling me with glee.
ROBLOX needs to step up it's game.

A company isn't about GAINING money, it's about INSTILLING that money. Keeping it. If you get 10000000000000000 cash a mont (an example number) but have to spend double that on bills, then you probobly get my draft.
Besides, this is an automatic assumtion that you HAVE to buy lifetime OBC, which you don't. You can pay for a measly six dollars a month.
Also, microsoft has other forms of profit, such as laptops and computers. Roblox does not, and so, is more expensive.
And also, both of those perchases are not subscriptive, and ergo cannot be made to form a true comparison. |

XSpwX, not every one lives to 100 years, and unless you're assuming I will play ROBLOX on the day I was born, that's a problem. You're paying it all at once, not over time.

ROBLOX has other sources of income. KRE-O, Ads, etc.
I'm not going to pay 300+ Dollars to increase fun.
MC doesn't need you to pay more, as they are smart enough to go "Oh, we don't need this, but we need this", and make it so.

You only have to play six.
And besides, in minecraft, you have to pay to access everything.
In roblox, you don't. You don't have to pay to access over half the things of the game.
Because of such a fact, it's only natural thier purchase is going to be more expensive.
That doesn't make it bad.

What else can they make?
If they make more things to build with, more building tools, update the building, they will infact ruin roblox.
So what do they do? accessorize. That's all they CAN really do.
Besides, the catalog is purely cosmetic. Cosmetics =/= gameplay.
You don't have to PAY to play the game.
SO, what is your problem?
Can't buy an item that has barely any affect whatsoever? That's your problem. Not roblox's.
And, most of the "BC-only crap" has been removed, OR IS COSMETIC. |

Core of the game = Failing.

I just made my post "Forum 3.0" to be the revitalizing shock that sparks the forums back to life. ROBLOX is focusing too much on "Hats", "Gear", "Bodies", etc. when the games are falling behind, and the reasons to play ROBLOX are dying out, but not buying BC.

I started making a game in 2008. Yes, 2008. Just listen. .-.
It was basic. A CTF with some basic blocks. I didn't use studio back then.
2009, and I started using studio. It took me a few months to understand. It was not easy to grasp.
2010? I learned a lot of stuff, found a lot of effects.
2011? My hayday. My buildings there are legandary.
2012? Nothing has changed. Nothing. I used the 2012 stamper system, compared it to the CTF I made in 2008, and the result I found?
The 2008 build system was worse, than the 2012 system.
The 2008 studio system was worse, than the 2012 system.
It truely is better, when you make true comparisons.
The moral? MAKE TRUE COMPARISONS! >:U- :3.
The true moral? Explore. The studio is still there; people don't use it. It's still there ready to be amazing. But people don't use it.
If there is anything that is making roblox fail, it's the community. Not roblox. |

Dont buy lifetime then,
ROBLOX is power hungry, so they wont lower it.
So just buy 1 month, 6 months, maybe 1 year membership.
You can just keep renewing... And if you dont want BC anymore/Cant afford it, you can cancel BC or let it expire.
