Here is how I see it, if the mic chat ever did come into use.
These are all the things that roblox would have to do to make sure that the system would work perfect.
1. They would need to make a filter that would block out any type of cursing of any kind and it would have to block out any words in other languages that is profanity.
2. They would need to add a recorder that would recorded ever conversation people have with one another.
3. There would have to be a age limit to how 0ld you would have to be to talk to people.
4. It would need to be private chats, because others can get into it.
5. People could share information, so the filter would have to update every time a person makes a account and learn there pa$$word, so that if it is said it can bleep it out.
Now here are the 2 main reason that those will probly never happen.
1. Creating a filtration system that is that advanced would take 100's of 1000's of man hours just to get it to run. It would also take 1000's and 1000's of dollars to make it work perfect.
2. This one is goanna be hard to explain. Roblox would have to add a consent to every person who uses mic chat to be allowed to be recorded. The reason being is because there are states out there that are 2 party consent. This means that both people need to know they are being recorded and must know that they are being recorded, and they must also agree to being recorded.
This means if I were to recorded what you are saying right now without your permission you can turn around and sue me. You must know and agree to be recorded in order for some one to record you. An example state that has this two person party system is Michigan.

Teen 1: *gets up without letting Teen 2 know*
Teen 2: Hey, yo!
Teen 1's dad's movie: *at a very loud volume* (cuss) you.
Teen 2: I'm reporting you.
Teen 1: *comes back*
Teen 1 Hey, I'm banned!
This can also lead to sharing personal info, and online dating behind the mods back. Also, how would the mods moderate voice chat? |
