The cold war, lasted from 1945 to 1991. Despite it's name, there was no actual combat between superpowers, but rivalry, propoganda, and a military standoff between east and west. During this time the planet was changed forever between goverment movements and small pocket wars between supporting nations backed by a superpower. Now you have the chance to face off against your foe, or find a peaceful solution to your problems. The choice is yours to make the ultimate descision!
Rules:
1. Keep the tecnology at a steady pace, AKA no energy weapons.
2. Not everything has to be historicly accurate but you can make reasonable changes.
3. Don't get carried away, no nuclear war in 1945!
4. My word goes, but admins have powers though.
5. Keep within the timeperiods I set, meaning no man in space in 1955 or M16s in 1950.
6. Don't be rac.ist!
7. Have fun!
Weapons of mass destruction.
WMDs can be posessed by large and mide sized countries. They are divided into three catagories; Biological, Chemical, and Atomic/Nuclear weapons. You can only have one to start with. keep in mind they all have advantages and disadvantages.
Biological:
Biological weapons are mainly organisums or substances that can destabilize a civilian population. It can move at a steady pace and can infect entire areas and moderaly effect oher areas. Downside is that it is not effective in battlefield situations as it can not move fast enough to be effective.
Chemical:
Chemical weapons can be used in battlefiled situations, usulally in the fourm of gas and has been used sence World war 1. It spreads at an alarming rate and can turn the tide of battle, but not used very often sence World war 1. The disadvantage is that while it works fine on a battlefield, on the homefront it is detected easier and does less damage.
Atomic/Nuclear:
Atomic and Nuclear devices are destructive weapons that destroy vast areas in the blink of an eye. The can bring down entire cities in seconds and change the tide of a war. They can used on both civilian and military targets behind the lines with great effect. One area can be completely obliterated and leave other areas iratiated from fallout, depending if it hits the ground. The downside is that they can not be used anywhere CLOSE to the front lines due to their potential to hit friendly forces. And another flaw in the fact that the power depends mainly on the the weapon used.
War:
War has it's backdraws and benifits in certain cituations. war will destroy your population and weaken your military strength. It will also hurt your moral is your lsoing the war patricularly. However if the war is supported (AKA attacked or damages your goverment), it will pump money into the econonmy.
Time eras:
Time eras will show progression of tech in the game. To start with it will be World war 2 based due to starting in 1945. very ten years will be an upgrade in tech and will make you more effective.
Goverment:
Goverment is key in this game. To start with you must start historicly accuarte but uprisels and liberation may bring changes. Examples are Capitalisum, Communisum, Socialisum, Facist, and monarchy.
Space:
Space and sace progams wount be allowed until the late 1950s. After that rockets and shuttles will be allowed, but no interstelare starships or moon colonies. Space stations are acceptable but must obey international laws set by the UN. Military weapons maybe later on.

The United Nations is an organization that brings countries together to solve problems and assit each other in human actiuvities. Every country is equal here.

Post World War 2 Era:
This era allows for wolrd war two based equipment. Weapons are made made of wood and metal. Most militaries use bolt action or semi automatic rilfles and tanks have larer profiles. Space is not an option to start but can start after 1955. Aircraft are mainly propeler driven piston aircraft. Jets are availble but not as powerful as later models. TV is still black and white and is still new. Helicopters are very limited and can't be gunships but only as med evacs for military. |
