I'm here to get your feedback about improving the Contest system. Please reply with constructive ideas and advice about how to make it better.
Questions to consider:
- What is wrong with Contests right now?
-- It doesn't run often enough. How often do you want it to run?
-- The system doesn't work right. How is it not working?
-- Voters can glitch the voting. How are they doing that?
-- Builders false-advertise your voter gain. How can we prevent that?
- What would be more awesome than the Contests we have now?
-- Different kinds of submissions in the current contest system. What kinds?
-- User created contests. How would that work?

Contest Idea.
How about, build the 2008!
Players will build 2008 and get a new hat that will look like a 2008 hat. |

Everyone who just said support or no support shows just how much people read in a post.
Anyways, I think that user created contests could work in perhaps a subtab of the Contests tab (Official / User Created). On the User Created page there would be a list of contests going on which would show the title, requirements, participant number, and prize, along with filters for each. In each contest page there would be a creator, judges (optional?) and participants. It could be formatted like groups except people who join can only be participants and only the creator can get judges.
This is just the basic idea I think. |

You could also give the creator/host of a contest the ability to make the whole contest invite only for private contests. |

Yes I agree with Spriteria... The last contest was in March. Ifwe had another contest, it should be a SCHOOL CONTEST again... Maybe... dunno... I know school is boring mkay? >.> |

Contests should be at least every month.
There should also be some way to have user-created contests so there will almost always be an interesting contest running. |

Every week or two you have a contest with prizes people want

Cheat Engine maybe. So is that why there are no contests?

Make it so they can't say "VOTE THIS FOR +1 MILLIUN VOTES PL0X"

Contests that focus around things that we want

Users give ideas, then after a week the most popular ones are voted on (top 5 maybe) and then first to last in votes go from week 1-last week (if 5 weeks then contests 1-5 and then post polls again)

The bias and serendipity. Some people work hard for nothing, wilst some people FM and get everything. The "first come first served" concept of the conetsts is very ridiculous.
Perhaps, rating of places can only happen after a certain period of the contest starting. That would mean everyone would have a clear date to finish before voting begins, and don't feel rushed.

I'd say one month per contest, one week break one each contest.

By making them vote for themselves, alt abuse, peer pressure, first come first served effect.

By making the mods decide the name and making the DESC not editable. Yes, you would have to start a place anew. But I have a solution.

I'm sorry, but I love it when a mod/dev/admin makes a grammarmatical error, totally ironic of me. :3. Don't you mean "than the contests we have now?"

Maybe there could be co-entries, group entries, etc.
