I wandered out of the hollow, shadows stretched over the wood, the air was sharp, cold. I could tell summer was nearing its end. Soon enough, the chills of autumn would come. I could already see crimson creeping into the leaves, as they dried and drifted into immense heaps, that crackled under a normal human's feet. I loved autumn, the colors and cool in the air was pleasant and made me...happy. I looked up, barely able to make out the sky against the tree branches, silhouetted in moonlight. I could make out some of the stars as they began to twinkle into visibility into the deep, navy sky. I could hear rustling in the leaves, and watched a blackbird with a limp, pity swept over me and I sauntered over to it. It stared up at me in fear, I picked it up gently and stroked its feathers, and brought it to a hollow, letting it hobble in. I sat at the entrance, staring into the dusky distance, and watched my lantern.
The flame on the candle was ghostly and cold, flickering dangerously. But it never went out. My grip on the little thing tightened, and I laughed hollowly, remembering a tale. A wanderer had seen a "dusky little figure in the night" as it shuffled through the woods. He pursued it, and it led him to a chasm. A Will o Wisp, a fireball of a lost soul that wandered...now that I clutched this lantern...I was like one, the little spirits that wandered on All Hallow's Eve...Hallow's Eve, when the spirits of the dead were at their strongest...was fast approaching. I sighed and stood, leaving the now sheltered blackbird, and walking into the night, with my bobbing, odd lantern. |

I look around. My cave had a wooden wall with a door on the front, so that not everyone could get in. Inside, there was a wooden and cloth bed with one pillow, a wooden table, and a wooden chair for the table. Plus torches. |

I wandered through the forest, crying quietly. Up ahead of me, I saw a light. I couldn't make out who was holding it or what it was, but I wanted to know, so I walked towards it. "H-hello?" I asked quietly. (That's you Ab)

I yelped as I pulled the knife out of my leg. That stupid human. I hated those creatures. Us vampires were much better, much smarter, than them. 'I will find him and kill him.' I promised myself. |
