Us Vaktovians had thought that we had finally defeated RAT.
We thought that we had them down to less than 1k members left.
We were now on our lowest guard.
We had tons of troops, and thought that the final raid RAT would throw at us would be the last of their existance.
Of course we had casualties, but we were not worried.
Until, one day.
While all Vaktovia was as SMO, tons and tons of humongous RAT war ships covered the sky.
Rays began shooting down on the fort.
Only with the first hit of the ray, half of Vaktovia was dead.
Vaktovians were running everywhere.
I yelled to a comrade "Contact the Vaktovian Fleet and bring me war ships to atleast give us a chance at survival!" I said.
"The last of the survivors of the Vaktovian Fleet Station just radioed in that the RATS took out the Vaktovians and the ship at the station!" he yelled back to me.
I began running.
Some Vaktovians just ran into the field to put up the smallest of fights.
Some kept on running, knowing they would die.
Some shot themselves.
Some tried hiding, but once again, knowing they would die.
More rays of destruction rained down, along with RAT helicopters, dropping RAT drop-shock troopers.
I kept on running, and now I was among the last 100 Vaktovians, and the numbers went down fast.
I decided to run into the field.
I had seen a fallen trooper.
I had a feeling that he, or as I soon discovered she was still alive.
I kneeled right next to the comrade, and removed their helghast helmet.
I was surprised to see it was a she.
I removed my helghast helmet to reveal who I was.
As I removed my helmet and laid it down into the swampy surface, she opened her eyes.
The side of her body was bleeding, the swampy water around her was red.
She had scars on her face.
"Oh Gunner, I knew you would come for me at a time like this," she said with a clear voice.
At this point, both her and I forgot all about the warfare happening around us.
"Why wouldn't I come for you?" I said.
I put my arm behind her neck, straightening her hair gently.
"Gunner, I'm so happy to spend my last hour with you," she said to me as she rubbed my check gently.
"I feel the same," I said.
She leaned towards me.
I leaned towards her.
We positioned our lips.
Our heads got closer and closer.
I felt her nose.
She felt mine.
We were a second away.
PEW PEW BOOM KABLOOIE
A ray was shot at us.
I exploded
I died.
