Windows 8 I heard was practically against gamers so they somehow made it hard for like online games and CD games hard to use... Not exactly sure but I avoided it just in case, look more into it and see what you can find. |

Roblox doesn't support windows 8 yet because it's still in beta. |

Windows 8 is almost built the same way a tablet is built. If you had a tablet can you play roblox studio on it? No. Can you play online games on a tablet? Somtimes. However, Windows 8 is not really friendly to gaming users.
I'll be happy to assist you by the PM for any questions you may have. Have a nice day!

Nevermind, it works now. They made a temporary update which disables flash and javascript in studio for windows 8 users. |

Don't use 8. Use 7.
Windows XP and 2000 are good.
Windows Vista is OK.
Windows 7 is AWESOME.
Windows 8 is HORRIBLE. |

> Windows 8 I heard was practically against gamers
This is highly untrue. I may hate how they are trying to push the new Metro interface (I will continue to call it that even if Microsoft doesn't want me to), but I will still defend them when they do something right.
The whole problem comes from people getting butt-hurt about the new Metro interface, focus on touch-screen devices such as tablets, the modification of how you can use your host file, and how your desktop is treated as a separate app instead of a core function of Windows, among many other bugs that have been ironed out mostly. But during the fiasco, and before the time Windows got around to fixing mostly everything bug-wise, proponents of Mojang and Valve announced how they felt Windows was doing it wrong, and that they weren't there to "cater to Windows, Windows is there to cater to us." Mojang, running on Java, was already cross-platform and didn't need to do anything special. Valve, on the other hand, is it's own application and game engine (Steam & Source). They had to re-work their designs to keep up with the new glitches of Windows 8. They had already, before the announcement, unveiled that they were porting Steam and Source to Linux in addition to Mac OS and Windows. They simply said that they will continue to support older Windows versions as best they can, but if Microsoft continues to act like idiots, they will stop pushing updates with Windows 8 in mind. News agencies picked up on this event, and conveyed it, accurately, as how this will change which OS will become the dominant one, as many people use Windows only for games and if a major game distributer stops supporting them, there will be a major shift in the market.
The confusion, however, comes from other news sources conveying this talk of OS shifting as "Windows not being hospitable to gamers." It's entirely likely they had no idea what they were talking about. It's not that Windows will stop supporting gaming. That's stupid to think. In fact, Intel and Overwolf teamed up with Microsoft to build a way for tablets to play games like WoW with as much ease as a desktop/laptop. It's not that Microsoft isn't supporting games, it's that they've annoyed the developers of games to the point that they are threatening to abandon Windows. In fact, the only reason I still have Windows is because of the games, and once Source is ported, I'm likely to make the final switch.

I have the Professional Version which is much better by the way!

Find the real program (Its in the local folder for appdata) and then put the compatibility in windows 7 for all programs you see. That helped me. |
