Friends Do Not Show Up When You Accept Them

I have been having this for quite awhile now and now WolfgangPolska is having the same problem. So lets say you have 0 friends, you accept 1 and it does not show up. You have to accept 3 before the first one shows up. Then when you accept another, the 2'nd friend shows up. It's quite annoying. Anyone have any ideas?
