Fresh off the presses, a new sparkling idea.
Ready or not, this is
Support Counters:
Support counters. This idea is purely cosmetic and for the enjoyment of thread creators only. A simple efficient of keeping track how the general population feels about your idea.
Under every comment, there would be 2 boxes, one with a green tick and the other with a red cross above them. When you tick a box, it goes to the counters.
You have two counters, a Support and a No-Support counter. (Obviously). If you ticked a comment as a Support, 1 more Support would be added to your counter and vice versa.
As stated earlier, the purpose of this idea is so thread creators can keep track of how many Supporters they have. In the my forums section, next to all thread made by you. There will be a red box and a green box with a number inside. Obviously this number is your amount of Supporters and No Supports.
Now, this is 'abusable' seeing as the thread creator could count all No Supports as Supporters on the counters, or the thread creator could count multiple posts from the same person as a Support but the beauty of the counters is that they're only viewable by the thread creator. So if they decide to 'cheat the system', they're only cheating themselves. They really do not gain anything. They just miss the opportunity at using the great progress-tracking feature Support Counters have to offer.
Please Support. If you choose to No Support, it is against intergalactic law to with-hold reasoning.

Like having a "Like" and "Dislike" tab for comments.
I do value the idea, but if its functionality/feature is for a specific forum, then everyone will be asking for small additions to their favorite forum talks. And if this was a public appeal for everyone to use, then......ya you get the point. ._.
I somewhat support, unless contradicted to support entirely. |

Your thread proposes a universally-visible alternative to typing out a seven letter word. My thread proposes a totally private way or keeping track of threads without at all damaging or affecting the current criticism function of the S&I forums. They aren't the same.

Ehh I wish I could say support because your watevs44 but I say No support because It is abusable even if the people ho are doing it are wasting there time and gain nothing. I just don't agree with ideas that can be abusable :/

The abusability does not matter.
It's exploitable but the 'exploit' doesn't harm anyone or do anything to better the OP.
So you're telling me your only reason for No-Supporting is because of a harmless triviality? I repeat: HARMLESS, IN EVERY SINGLE WAY, TRIVIALITY

It's not that there's anything flawed with it, I just don't like it.

If you admit there's no flaws, then there's no reason to Not Support. This frame of mind only works for hat and gear suggestions and things of that nature.

Never did I say I didn't support it, I just don't like it, which is completely different.
I'm a bit on the neutral side of no support and support.
I see where you're going with the suggestion, and how some people can see it as 'useful' or 'nifty', but I personally don't like it.
It would be entirely wrong for me not to support just on how I feel about it.
Although my opinion does effect it, somewhat...
I'm going to just remain on the neutral ['support - wise'] for now. |

Keep in mind, that "Neutral" implies 50% No Support and 50% Support.
Lucky for you, you gave reasons why you weren't in love with the idea.
