Sadly the other halo RPG (http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=16081875) kind of went down the toilet and everyone left, so since I find myself with a lack of entertainment right now am going to try to recreate what that had going for it. I give you, Halo RPG 2.0.
The problem with making peace with Alien races is that sometimes they are very attached to their religion, and right now that's a problem. Because you see, after a long period of peace everything has gone down hill.
And now its become a 2 front war, with two highly militarized "cults" now shooting at each other we were forced to enter the war. And of coarse if we picked a side people would yell at us, so we didn't. We just shot at both of them.
But now we have a problem, intelligence says the two groups have been having a lot of meetings lately, and we suspect that they are going to ally to destroy us. So they can continue killing each other. So we need to come up with a solution, lots of military groups have started engineering answers. Some say using forerunner technology, others say another Spartan program. But others have their own ideas. The most interesting one is the "Oblivion" program.
The Oblivion program intents to do what the Spartan program did, just better. Instead of being focused on making a stronger solider, they say they will make more skilful soldiers. After a lot of arguing and talking the Oblivion program has been granted large amounts of government funding, a capital ship of which to work, a large staff and a lot of freedom.
Rules
If you don't feel like letting your character die without gming I suggest having your character take damage, get hurt on a mission, a training exercise or whatever. Just have them hurt, and occasional permanent scars give your character personality.(Basically, don't god mode.)
And try not to run off and start your own story.
