I walked into town. There was a new ice rink there. I walked in and swapped my shoes, paid and went in and started skating, slowly at first, then a bit faster. I hadn't skated since I was thirteen. I spun around on the skates, then jumped, landed slightly clumsily and skated backwards. There were only three people there, including me. I tried the jump again, this time landing gracefully. |
