Tell me the difference between: You're and your. They're, Their, and There. Effect and Affect. Go ahead, tell me. Don't hesitate to tell me the CORRECT definition of what kind of words you use incorrectly every time you correct someone. 50% of them use the wrong "You're" :P

You're is a contraction for "you are." Your is a possessive pronoun. They're is a contraction for "they are." Their is a possessive pronoun. There is a word describing a location, like "it's over there." Effect is a noun, as in "this doesn't have any effect on me." Affect is a verb, as in "this won't affect me."

-- You're and your. "You're" is a contraction of "you are". "Your" is a possessive adjective that relates ownership between the object and the other person. -- They're, Their, and There. "They're" is a contraction of "they are". Their is a possessive adjective that relates ownership between the object and multiple people being talked about. "There" simply means not near the speaker. -- Effect and Affect "Effect" is a noun, "affect" is a verb.
