maybe for shirts you could split it in two some how...like you can make left sleeve, right sleeve and then just a shirt and then you could have the oppsion to put the 3 peices together. It would make things a little easier, and more easy to understand! you could just make the sleeves the same way you do,makeing a shirt. smae for pants you could just split pant legs and thenput the together when your done that wold also make it easier!
