The myan calendar is like a mile meter on your car. After it gets past a certain number it just goes back to 0. It is called the long term period. So who cares? Their calander never predicted the end of the world. |

Why would that be. |
|

Because you're against mental health drugs and actually know how the Mayan calender functions.

@Sheoboroc 1 day, because the day nothing happens will prove our argument.
@CommanderRoblock
Not sure if your being sarcastic or not. But, if not thanks i am happy to see somebody understand my argument and not go off in a roaring rage. |

I don't quite remember from studying history in Central America but I believe every 20 cyles, (the 21st would be the end of a cycle) for the mayans means we would be one step closer to the end of a Bak'tun (Might be spelling that incorrectly). A Bak'tun has a total of 20 cycles I believe and that is when the Mayans have thought something major or even the world might end will happen. We are due for the end of a Bak'tun in 4000 something.
Who thinks you can live that long? |

I don't quite know, But I'm pretty sure that it's not the end of every cycle but rather the end of a Bak'tun or as I put it, 20 cycles. |

I personally think the 2012 Assumption is completely wrong. Just as our calender ends, it begins a new year. Even the Mayans doubted the day of the end of calender the end of the world. The idea must have been invented by a clever businessmen to generate profit. As you can see people pay to buy bunkers, emergency 2012 survival kits, etc.
But, as the current world situation suggests, I do believe the end of the world (probably just the economy and stuff) is nigh when a single flare of war broke out anywhere on the world. |

Actually, according to their mythology, there have been 4 worlds created each on the 13th bak'tun. 12/21/12 is the next 13th bak'tun. However, this wasn't really a worry(all Religous doomsday profecies failed) until someone dug it out of a history book and said "hmmmmm...that day our world will end!" (Sarcasm) |

Actually it did not. The mayans have came out and said that you guys need to stop saying that their calendar predicted that.
The long term cycle was and is just used to organize large amount of time. |
