Interesting name? Well, the main concept behind the art will be based on "Dull". I like the place description: [ http://www.roblox.com/Personal-Dull-RPG-place?id=69583042 ] This place is a concept, there's is nothing to see by going here, so I suggest you don't. There's an NPC to talk to, and that's all. Description: "Define: Dull - adjective - boring: arousing no interest or excitement not vivid: lacking vividness or brightness of hue" And that is just how things will look. This can help with the almost horror genre that the game will fit. I want things to feel uncertain and ominous the entire time, with the suspense that something can be lurking in the darkness at any time, or around any corner. But, I don't want to creep people out, use a ton of blood and gore, or make it into a role playing game where you follow a story. You make your own story. Basically, you're in an afterlife setting, and you're a spirit. However, it's like playing a horror survival game. You gather resources and build shelter, while you fend off various entities. It's not like that apocalypse game, there is a sort of base environment, but mostly the idea is that you can build your own homestead of sorts, while you do quests and kill stuff. (An RPG that follows the role of you). I think I actually started this game before I'd heard of Apocalypse Rising, but I am seeing a couple similarities. I don't want people to associate these concepts with similar concepts in that game, as they are more similar to Survival 404, but a bit different, since it is an RPG game. Maybe more of an adventure sandbox game as well. You can create your own adventures, and build a house in more dangerous areas. (Weaker materials will not last as long if a stronger enemy attacks). You'll explore this dark, dull, and dead work. (DDD RPG, HMMMMMM). Dull, Dark, Dead. I might use that. Anyway, that's a brief explanation. Throughout the game, you will improve your strength, probably not through levels, get better equipment, and might end up being a savior of those spirits that are hunted, perhaps defeat the reaper or the lich lord himself. Things will be dead and abstract, and I don't want to use zombies, but I might use skeletons and abominations. Anyway, any suggestions or comments are welcomed, and ask any questions if you have them. I'll do what I can to answer. This idea is not as developed as my other ideas. (The dull building style will allow user made objects to look better in the work, since they will lack detail, and the size of the game can be much greater if detail is not focused on). A few years back my friend wanted to make an RPG based on Hades, the Underworld, sort of like this. It was more of a survival place than an RPG, and didn't get far. Maybe you should consider that role to kind of start you off in the right "dead" direction.

I don't understand why your intention is to make a boring map. Interesting posters and details make the user really understand that the creator cares about his work. There are cooler ways to increase the size of the map rather than just throwing out detail. And since the featherweight update came out, 80,000 parts is no big deal.

I came up with the idea before featherweight parts, but it not only allows for a different mood, dark and dreary, but for user made structures to more easily fit the style. (I can still make the game look nice with minimal detail, but the colors wouldn't be vibrant, and there still will be detail). With featherweight parts, I'll probably add more than I have now. I was planning on spicing things up to add to the story behind it. (I wanted a large, large map though, so there would be a ton to explore, and plenty of room for unique quests). It has the survival aspect included, so ninja, it seems like your friend had a very similar idea. "If you want to become a Developer or Innovator for CSA, contact me."
