Did you know that Michael Keaton and Tim Burton were set to return for a third film in their Batman series? It would be more of an origin story, with a variety of flashbacks showing how the character evolved, and became the crime fighter he is today. |

I read about something like that a while back. Would've been interesting, for sure. |

I remember watching it, but it's been years. I need to watch it again, that way I can place it on my list correctly. :-)
"Forever" is good, if you're not expecting another "Returns."
"Mask of the Phantasm" is my favorite animated movie, and it's actually better than the Tim Burton films. |

Batman Forever
Mask of the Phantasm
Batman
I didn't really care for any of the others. |

What did you not like about the Nolan trilogy? |
|
|
The Nolan movies are great. Very artistic and give new depth to pretty much everything.
But why I don't like them is because they lack that feel of comicness. Gotham feels like Chicago instead of the dark city with red skies.
I don't know just my two cents. |
|
|
Well, they did film in Chicago, so... :P
I prefer a more city-like feel. Gives it more realism and helps us accept the thought of Gotham being an actual city. |
|
|
That was the other thing. Instead of capturing the atmosphere of the comics it captured the atmosphere of the real world.
Which is good but it loses a certain magic to it. |
|
|
I respect your opinion, but I do disagree.
Nolan's intention was to create a movie that put a superhero in the real world.
It was a superhero movie, without being a superhero movie.
Nolan didn't want to capture the atmosphere of the comics, but rather, the atmosphere of the real world.
Honestly, I think it was a brilliant idea. Every superhero movie I've seen (Nolan's Batman trilogy aside) has put a superhero in a world that feels like the hero belongs.
Now, in the Nolan films, Batman doesn't belong. But that's the idea, that's how it would be in real life.
So, of course his movies were going to capture the atmosphere of the real world, that's what his intention was. I don't think that's something that should be held against the movie.
That's just me, though. :-)

|
I don't hold it against them and as ive said they're spectacular films on their own rankings.
But I just like the comic atmosphere more.
Good day. |

Green Lantern was bad.
Real bad. |
|
|
|
|
"Mask of the Phantasm" is actually really good.
It's more in-depth with Bruce Wayne's character than any of the pre-Nolan Batman films.
It's also fairly dark, for a kids' film. |
|
|
"5. The Dark Knight Rises
This was like in Green Lantern, where I got out of the theatre and thought it was awesome but the more I thought about it the less I liked it."

I've seen "Rises" twice, and the second time I saw it made me love it even more.
That's just me, though. :-)
"Green Lantern" is an all right movie. It has some crap effects and a weak story, but it's not a bad movie, to me.
It's stupid, yes, but it's all fun. |
