Highly irrelevant yet greater than an elephant
You can't dance to that-That's not elegant
A time decoding the metaphors is one well spent
The cool will buy it off me others often try to rent
A returned message to whomever may have sent..
Its the same theory for a rented tux-Discovered lent
I know tuxes are washed, but you know what I meant
A circumcised rhyme scheme through an air vent
[Chorus]: Ah, you don't get it..
Sssss, ooh, this freestyle is rather choppy
More obsolete than those discs-Quite floppy
Mimicked, a stolen genius in the form of hard copy
Metaphors rope tied around something sloppy
Just throwing around metaphors...ya got me?
Sicker than the cold-Just coughed a bee
Couldn't unlock my intellect if I droped you the key
Sit back and let the winner write a little bit of history
No use arguing with the likes of me..

Most of those were similies, not metaphors.
The rest were pretty much just non sequiturs. |

Gary please re-read the first line. That was a metaphor. |

@dj gary said MOST of them were similies not all of them. |
|
|
i really liked it, but i think that you should try to make your lyrics really mean something instead of just finding words to rythm |
|
|
didnt read it but going by comments its pretty good i guess >.> |

Simile: A figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, (e.g., as brave as a lion/Usually contains phrases of "like" or "as").
Metaphor: A thing regarded as representative or symbolic of something else, esp. something abstract. |
|
|
@keke, each word means something... You just can't grasp the meaning because you're not thinking hard enough. |

I'm wasn't thinking at all when I read it. I guess my brain is just that intellectual. |

@DJflameerrrreras, no that was a simile.
He compared himself to to a lion, so it's a simile. A really shallow simile at that.
It rhymed, which more that most of the rorappers on here can say, but it didn't say anything at all.
I can't really say that it was very good, nice try though. |
|
|
|
@Gary, first of all "as brave as a lion" was an example...I wasn't comparing myself to anything. Secondly, the rap says a lot if you can understand it. |

django was a great film. pew pew pew. |

Metaphors explained:
"Highly irrelevant yet greater than an elephant"
>Most people's thoughts on rap...A lot will say that they do not like it, however, it's still a huge genre when it comes to music.
"You can't dance to that-That's not elegant"
>Again brining up the fact that a lot of people will downplay rap, usually saying there's nothing genius/elegant about it.
"A time decoding the metaphors is one well spent"
>It takes a little time to discover the metaphors hidden in this, and while you're doing so, you'll disprove people's opinion of rap... found in the second line... Which I find is time well spent.
"The cool will buy it off me others often try to rent"
>After disproving the opinion that rap has no elegance, I go as far to say that those who rap themselves/"buy" (djflame0) will usually understand the metaphors. However, those that "rent" are usually taking someone's used opinion of the metaphor's meanings.
"A returned message to whomever may have sent.."
>Pertaining to the previous verse, a majority of those trying to figure out the meaning of the metaphors will give up and ask me to supply the meanings; and as quick as they do, I return the meanings of the metaphors to the senders.
"Its the same theory for a rented tux-Discovered lent"
>Renting a tux signifies someone before you has most likely worn that same tux (Borrowed ideas on the metaphors), a double entendre that reconnects with a certain previous verse. "Lent" instead of "lint" is a type of forty day event of the christian faith, which ties into the last verse of this section..
"I know tuxes are washed, but you know what I meant"
>5/10 someone's borrowed perception of the metaphors are right, but for those that cannot get it I supply it.
"A circumcised rhyme scheme through an air vent"
Meaning the rhyme scheme and metaphors may be a little choppy (Circumcised/Christian faith related type thing)...Also, did you know there were fans in the air vents? Long story short, you'll have to go through the fans and systems of air vents before you reach the outside... You'll have to think hard before you get my metaphors or the story behind my rhymes. |

"l "as brave as a lion" was an example"
ooops, I meant you compared yourself to an elephant.
It's a simile.
My problem with your stuff is that you try to do interesting thing for the sake of interesting things.
Using metaphors to say something interesting is a great way to say something, but making a song about metaphors to show off that you know what a metaphor is just silly.
also "I AM SO MUCH SMARTER THAN EVERYONE" is possibly the worst message that can be written into anything. |
|
|
"Sssss, ooh, this freestyle is rather choppy"
>Although this freestyle may seem unorganized by its seemingly messy rhyme scheme, it's actually well thought out.
"More obsolete than those discs-Quite floppy"
>Pertaining to the previous verse, those that find the rhyme scheme bad are as obsolete to me as floppy discs to the technological age of computers.
"Mimicked, a stolen genius in the form of hard copy"
>Printers/papers whoo! Also a reflection of someone who stole my metaphors to different songs a while back and used them for their own benefit (JASON)
"Metaphors rope tied around something sloppy"
>Although he (JASON) was able to copy my material he still seemed a bit sloppy when it came to providing an explanation of why his raps all of a sudden seemed so "good".
"Just throwing around metaphors...ya got me?"
>Self explanatory... Just using a lot of metaphors...Do you get it?
"Sicker than the cold-Just coughed a bee:
>A symbolism of the level of intellect I use as I dish out metaphors..."Coughed a bumble bee" meaning coughed really hard, pertaining to a play on of "Sicker than.."
"Couldn't unlock my intellect if I droped you the key"
>Even if I taught you how to rap, you still wouldn't be able to match the metaphors I'm dropping/rapping
"Sit back and let the winner write a little bit of history"
>Rap is bad: 0/J-The-Jenius: 1! The winners of war always wrote the history books! I won a battle proving that rap can actually be elegant
"No use arguing with the likes of me.."
>No use arguing when you've already lost... Pertaining to the previous verse. |
|
|
@Gary, please read the explanation of the metaphors...In which I pointed out that I compared rap to an elephant, and most definitely not myself. |
