I understand your frustration. We are seriously not trying to troll you or anything. I know there is one more chat update coming up. I really hope it fixes your issue. In the meantime, I'm going to try to repro.

@Dom: forever the hater. JR, if the chat patch doesn't work, then it's back to the drawing board. These things take time. We fix what we can find, and then we release and we hope we fixed everything. I'll talk to the iOS team and see if there's anything we can do to get this fixed sooner.

Since the update my iPad 4 seems to crash less when I talk! But I remember when I played on my iPad 2 it was slow and crashed a lot.
