This ''weird'' singing is called a Mezzo-Soprano. Also, I don't really see the insult in Mermaid, considered they are seen as beautiful.

"considered they are seen as beautiful." well mermaids were considered to be more like creatures that swooned in the men and killed them / ate them, caused shipwrecks, etc so all in all it's maybe not the biggest compliment to call a female a mermaid ~f٥гﻉ√ﻉг™~
