X1pro@ The Americans joined the fight when Britian and Russia was pushing back Germany. They did not 'want' to fight but they got forced into war by Japan. {First fight was Pearl Harbour}

I think that we Americans stereotype the French a bit too much when it comes to wars, probably because they lost so easily in WWII. However, that loss was because of the tactics used to defeat France, and was an error on France's high command part. The French actually covered Britain's retreat from the North of France across the canal, if it weren't for that, Britain would've been knocked out of the war, thereby securing the European front for the Axis.

Oh dear. The UK is the US' little buddy in Europe. Though, they also have a fairly strong military, and haven't been occupied in modern history. Also, Jibo, we know we don't rule the world, we simply know that we have more than enough nuclear weapons to destroy it several times over.

Ew, ignorance. Let me shed some light. First Crusade (1096-1099)-Frankish Victory (considering most of the Crusaders came from France) Second Crusade (1145-1149)-Failure Third Crusade (1189-1192)- French/English/Germany lose to Egypt Hundred Years' War (1337-1453)- French victory (after 116 years) Italian Wars (1494-1559)- French defeated by Spain/Austria Wars of Religion (1562-1598)- French Valois house removed, replaced by Bourbon Thirty Years' War (1618-1648)- French victory in the Franco-Spanish phase War of the Devolution (1667-1668)- French make gains Franco-Dutch War (1672-1678)- France makes gains War of the Spanish Succession (1701-1714)- Bourbon monarchy replaces Habsburg monarchy War of the Austrian Succession (1740-1748)- See: Battle of Fontenoy (1745) Seven Years' War (1756-1763)- French lose colonial possessions, maintain holdings in Europe American Revolution (1776-1783)- Dutch, Spanish, and French forces secure American independence from Britain French Revolution (1792-1802) - Minor gains acquired War of the First Coalition (1792-1797)-- French victory War of the Second Coalition (1798-1802)- French victory War of the Third Coalition (1803-1806)- French Victory War of the Fourth Coalition (1806-1807)- French Victory War of the Fifth Coalition (1809)- French Victory War of the Sixth Coalition (1812-1814)- French defeat (Borodino (1812), Leipzig (1814)) War of the Seventh Coalition (1815)- French defeat (Waterloo (1815)) Crimean War (1853-1856)- French, British, and Turkish forces prevent Russia from taking Crimea Franco-Prussian War (1871)- French defeated, German Empire declared World War I (1914-1918)- French, British, Russian, and Italian Forces (later Americans) fight four years of stagnant war with Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire World War II (1939-1945)- France capitulates (1940), eventual allied victory I understand I'm missing a great deal of the minor wars of the late twentieth century, as well as many other minor wars from the thirteenth century onward. However, as you can see, France doesn't exactly lose a great deal. This also excludes conflicts where France wasn't involved (such as the Great Northern War or the Balkan Wars of the late nineteenth early twentieth century)
