Not really. They do it to make themselves feel better about their own insecurities and it would make sense for Dahvie to feel insecure about his own self since he was also bullies throughout school. So Dahvie really can be seen as a bully. |

Because these kids are eating that garbage up. They were able to see that addressing topics like that in their songs would sell best because kids can relate to that. They can't relate to 'doing it' with people (BOTDFs older material).

Except all of their "meaningful" songs mean nothing, sine they do things that contradict the meanings of those songs. (Like bullying). And Fantasyland, a song from their newest album, is not very meaningful at all. |

You obviously haven't been listening to anything I've been saying. Let me give you an illustration because you just aren't getting it. Let's say that I became a strong supporter of animal rights. To show that i'm serious about my stand I decide that I will go vegetarian, since meat consumption is contrary to the stand I decided to take. If I stay vegetarian, then i'm obviously true to my cause of animal rights. If I give up my vegetarian diet for a juicy steak, then I obviously was not serious enough about the stand to stay true to it. Same with with Dahvie's situation with bullying.

I can pick that up from their songs as well. I mean, the message of some of them is just so obvious. But look, the thing that takes away the value of it is the lack of sincerity offered.
