Pretty sure this only applies if you deliberately refuse to bring a pen in for the rest of your time in school. A teacher would lend you a pen anyway otherwise they aren't allowing you to learn to the fullest and it's their job to teach. The rest of them probably only go for couch-potato's.

"No diploma = No Work" You can get a job without a diploma. Sure, It might be saying, "You want fries with that?" all your life, but atleast its a job.
