Google Analytics is used to put ads on sites where they are best suited. For example if you search for ROBLOX in Google, a sponsored ad may appear linking to ROBLOX, this is what Google Analytics does. It places ads based on content.

Lol. If you all look at the bottom, you will see Advertise with us. That's one part. They are pretty much "Forced" ads. WHICH ARE MODERATED. But, Google ads are not moderated, and based on search history. I for one use Ad Block on Google Chrome, that way, you see no ad's, problem solved. This can be done on many browsers. I took them off, because personally, i can care less whats on a ad.

Google ads may not be moderated but are placed dependent on the content of that site. That is why, when you are on Youtube, you see a gaming style ad for a game review or playthrough. Or you see a music ad for a music video. The content dictates what sort of ad is shown.

Or, simply clear your search history whenever you search something. This can be avoided. I do see why ROBLOX would need to block these. Like i said, block the ads yourself. If you do not know how, Google it, and you might find a ad.. :P

If you block ads when you should be seeing them, you're breaking the law. It's theft.

So George, what you're saying is that this can all be solved by improving the content and moderation of games, posts, etc? (No sarcasm)

Yes, if it were possible on an open site like this.

Oh yes, BUT, it does not matter. YouTube may i add, is made by Google, they do what they want on it. Google ads are placed by search history. What you're talking about, is simply Google's way of blocking certain ad's from appearing. You really wanna relay on that? Its a system that im sure glitches every once and a while.

I know people who use Google Adsense on their sites and they say it's by far the best way of putting ads on their site. The only ads shown are on topic and not intrusive.

Now THAT is funny. Blocking ad's is not Theft. You see me stealing anything? If you have Google Chrome, search in the app store Ad Block. There are bunches of them, if it was illegal, im pretty sure all of them would be terminated by now. They are quite popular, as MILLIONS of people use it.

Technically it is because you are stopping people earning money which essentially is theft.

George, did you think that ROBLOX uses that? No, they do not, and you did not. Which is why this exact topic is here. If they used that, im pretty sure everyone would be happier..

Well, cheat engines are against the law too, but they aren't terminated.

#89845712Thursday, February 21, 2013 2:20 AM GMT

Oh my, they still earn money. As it shows in system i saw it. But all it does it blocks it so you can not see it, not from it coming on site.

Pirating is against the law too. Torrents are against the law (In some countries)

Ad blockers get detected by some ad programs. Google Adsense and Adfly are two that I know detect ad blockers.
thomje112
#89846217Thursday, February 21, 2013 2:25 AM GMT

Mhmm, which is why i see no ad's. They detect it, but they do not get around it. It its used by millions of users, publicly displayed in the Google app center, and licensed (Ad-Block is) Im pretty sure its not against the law. Unless you happen not to live in the U.S, and its illegal where you are. Otherwise, perfectly legal.

#89846607Thursday, February 21, 2013 2:28 AM GMT

I live in the UK, it's not illegal here but is frowned upon by pretty much anyone that relies on ad revenue because an ad that gets blocked isn't viewed so the owner won't get ad revenue for it.

#89846916Thursday, February 21, 2013 2:31 AM GMT

Haha, you see, ROBLOX is based out of the US. Thus, must follow the US Laws. I live in the US, thus its perfectly legal. Ad block keeps you form seeing it, like i said, it still counts as profit.
