Thinking of a name... Anyway, I decided I'm gonna make a game around Medieval Combat. Yes, you will get to use weapons like swords, knives, and axes. But there is also a bit of magic, and technological advances in it as well. From explosives, to electricity, to medicine. All of which can help your team defeat the other. The game is a 7 vs 7 team death-match. Maps are in creation. Got any idea's? Post below!
Classes/Characters:
-Knight-
With a sword specially designed for him, none shall stand in his path. He also carries with him a dagger, and crossbow, allowing him to attack from multiple distances.
-Druid-
Blessed with his power to heal, he uses his powers to heal is comrades. He carries with him four bottle of medicine, and a spear, if anyone dares get in his way.
-Scout-
Although his largest weapon is a small spiked bat, he can still pack a lot of punches. Along with this, he carries throwing knifes, and his spiked arm bracer.
-Vanguard-
He chose his powerful axe, over a fast weapon, and he doesn't regret it. Alongside this, he carries a battle hammer, and a large sword.
-Wizard-
Known for his power of lightning, many fear him, even his team mates. With this he carries a wand to conduct spells, and a staff to summon lightning.
-Inventor-
Crafting all his teams from a hand and a hook, makes him tired. Although, he does fight alongside them with his saw, and what he seems to call 'explosives".
-To be Named-
Travelling the globe, he has mastered many foreign weapons. He carries his bronze kopesh, his chakram, and his dual sai.
If you want me to consider to add a person in, change a weapon, or change a name, say so with you're post. If you would like to get a good look at these characters go to the link here: http://www.roblox.com/Upcoming-Game-place?id=107074546 |

Yes, this will be a Red vs. Blue style map. Simply team deathmatch. 7 players per team. Players can choose whatever class they like. All 7 can be in the same class if they want. All 7 can be in a different class if they want. Completely up to the player how they play. |

Sounds great! I hope you can pull it off, also, can you add a dark night for red team and a paladin for blue? |

Love the idea. Done right, it could be a roblox version of TF2.
New, original. I wish the best of luck to you! |

include halbards and katanas. |

For the 'Scout' class I think it would be nice if they have a bow and arrow. |
|
|
I am now proud to introduce two new classes. They seem opposite of each other, but equally deadly. Here they are.
-Archer-
Skilled with a bow, he can use it for strong, or repeating attacks. He also carries his ancestors blade, and a machete.
-Warrior-
He knows how to use two sword at once, making him twice as deadly. He carries a mace to pack a punch, and a few bear traps to trap any who sneak up on him.
I'm trying to work on the maps at the moment, but I'm still trying to get used to the new studio. I have a couple maps thought up, but studio is annoyingly hard to deal with.
If you have a map idea post it below. If you want to keep it secret, send me a message. |

Good idea. Possibly a map could be a forest survival map with pathways in the trees and stuff? |

@Anthony
I just checked his profile. He doesn't have any games like this. |

This is like it, in ways. Both TDMs. Both have technological advances, both have medieval, etc.

@anthony
That's progression in time. This is more 1 time frame.
Just statin' |

@anthony
I don't think you understood what I said. When I said technological advances, I meant explosives. I didn't mean you upgrade your team slowly with better weapons. Oh, and player capacity is now 10, due to new classes. |

New class! Welcoming the Musketeer.
-Muskateer-
Master in the art of fencing, he brings his best blade to the table. Along with him he carries a flintlock pistol, and a dagger.
If you hadn't noticed, the classes each have an opposite class. Some are easy to tell, and some are hard. If you are the first to guess the correct pattern, I'll reward you with a prize. Good luck. |

can you begin with the bronze age, then go through the iron age and continue to the age of early gunpowder weapons? |
|
|
for added realism add a bit of inaccuracy to ranged weapons- meaning the the further you shoot the less accurate your weapons would be-also no ranged weapon should shoot in a straight line. in real life for ranged weapons- the ammo gets shot in a parabola( except for modern bullets but thats a different story) i suggest that in your game ranged weapons should shoot in a parabola. so it'll take skill to figure out how to kill someone from a distance.
add the day and night feature for increased realism
also you should shower the game with animations- when you draw a bow it should be taken out of your quiver, when you throw a knife it should be first taken from your belt, when you use a boomerang it should be drawn from a holster on your back, when you draw a sword it should be drawn from a sheath on your hip.
-animations like those mentioned above should take place for each weapon.
a variety of swords from different time periods and places should be included such as the Greek xiphos- a greek slashing sword( looks like frodo's 'sting'), the Norse Scramasax( essentially a very long parring knife), the Celtic long-sword, the roman gladius, the German dopplehander, the medieval broad-sword( a sword with a very wide blade), the medieval hand-and-a-half sword( a sword that you can interchangeably hold with one or two hands.), the japanese katana, the persian schimitar, the indian coiled-sword( a whip-like sword), and the egyptian khopesh.
for armor have several upgrades- here is a suggestive list( in order of strength): no armor, cotton- padded armor, wool-padded armor, leather-padded armor, bronze chainmail, bronze segmented( roman-styled) armor, bronze mail-and plate armor, bronze plate armor, iron chainmail, iron segmented armor, iron mail-and-plate armor, iron plate armor, steel chainmail, steel segmented armor, steel mail-and-plate armor, and steel plate armor. |
|
|
maybe you can include a variety of exotic weapons including weapons from the maori. here is the list of a few:
the tewhatewha-a long staff 5 ft or more in length-used for stabbing and striking. although in real life they were made of wood- you want it to penetrate through armor so make it out of steel (also make it around the size of your robloxian( it has a heavy clubbed end.
the taiwha: another long staff slightly shorter thant the tewhateha with no clubbed end.( though i t does have a blunted spear like edge at the bottom) again in real ikife it was made of wood but in the game make it out of steel.
a mere/patu( theyre so similar in appearance so that you can just choose one.): a short clubbed weapon made of jade( which is surprisingly harder than iron) theyre both 12 inches in length: the rouned sharpened top is used for thrusting while the flat sides were used to deliver a blow to the falling enemy
the toki: a pick-ax like weapon but the blade is made of jade.
the wahaika-similar to the mere but it has a curved indent on one side that was used to catch and disarm a warrior's weapons. although most were made of wood or whalebone some were made of jade( so make it out of jade in the game)
( if you need a visual picture of these just look them up)
|
|
|
all armor should impede mobility( makes you slower and longer to redraw weapons)- although whacking weapons like maces, axes, war-hammers, clubs, broadswords and dopplehanders can cut through armor for damage only fire provides a one-shot kill to armored opponents.
all beginning weapons should be made of bronze( for the following please go the page above- the part on beginning weapons.) all bronze-whacking weapons( including the beginners ax should penetrate through armor better than their steel and iron counterparts as bronze is harder but not stronger than iron) but the bronze sword should provide only limited impact on unarmored opponents. the bronze arrows will have a very small impact on armorless opponents but the bronze spear being a thrusting weapon will be the most useful beginner's weapon.
iron weapons should be good at attacking at bronze armor but of only limited impact on steel armor. iron whacking weapons such as axes and maces will be useful against any armored opponent but if your iron sword comes into contact with a steel sword- your iron sword will break.
steel weapons should be impervious to anything except jade weapons, bronze whacking weapons and fire. a steel sword can cut through iron armor but a steel whacking weapons should not cut through bronze armor.
jade weapons should cut through everything and anything that's amor. they should not be overpowered however and they should provide only limited damage to unarmored opponents( which will most likely be beginning players) |

can we collaborate? |
|

I don't think you read the whole thread. This is a team death-match game. Not a RPG. When I meant advances in technology, I mean you have new things. No upgrading. I'm sorry, but I can't really take your ideas... |
|
|
oh its all right i just copied and pasted them from sword fight 2.0 btw how good are you at building? |
|
|
and btw i have read the whole thread i know its not an rpg -_- |
|
|
I am a pretty good builder. I can edit scripts and gui's, but I can't make them. I don't feel like learning how to either. That's why I am going to need a scripter/gui helper if I want to make this game... |
|
|
if you have time can we work together on a project? |
|
|
Send me a message about what it is, and I'll think about it. |
