...Metallica is a thrash metal band

No metallica is a heavy metal band. THERES A BIG DIFFERENCE!

Kill Em' All was pure thrash, Ride, Puppets, and Justice were a mix between thrash and prog, Black Album was heavy metal, the Loads were hard rock, St. Anger was heavy metal (with an annoying snare drum), and Death Magnetic was back to a thrash/prog mix.

and don't forget some of dat speed metal they throw in sometimes.

Yeah, Metallica uses some speed metal elements too, though their music is much heavier than most speed metal, thus putting them into the thrash category.

Dragonforce, fail they can't even play the song they got famous for... Metallica's songs really long, which is one reason I like them, that means we listen to a heavy metal part longer than any songs without having to restart the song all over again. Another reason I like them is their osngs have more meaning, maybe in a weird way, but they all have some good meaning. Enter sandman,Sad but True, Fade to Black,One, The Unforgiven(all).

yeah the band members always say that fade to black is there most personal song.

Eh.... Zilla or someone knew was gonna get here someday.... Metallica was only really good for their killer solos. The lyrics to some songs are meaningless....

Um... not. Their lyrics are great. Besides, Tomukai, I've seen other forums where you said you "don't like metallcia"

Tomukai is just more of an Iron Maiden fan. There are some Metallica songs with amazing lyrics ("One" is musically and lyrically amazing). There are also some that are just silly ("Frantic" with "Frantic tic tic tic tic tic tock"). Personally, the lyrics don't matter to me; it's everything else that counts in my mind (riffs, melodies, harmonies, rhythms, solos, etc.).

You have to listen to metal for some while to understand Metallica's talent. Some things like, Ride the Lightning. Are only really good for their killer solos. My favorite Metal song. Preformed by a punk band. AMAZING! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5V5g0kdWqs

i like the lyrics to nothing else matters. (Note: This is all from memory. I swear,) "So close, no matter how far. Couldn't be much more from the heart. Forever trusting who we are, And nothing else matters....... Trust I seek, and I find in you, Every day for us something new Open mind for a different veiw, And nothing else matters....... Never cared for what they do Never cared for what they know But I know.......... *solo* So close, no matter how far.... Couldnt be much more from the heart.... Forever trusing who we are, And nothing else matters......... TRUST I seek, and I find in you, Every day for us something new, Open mind for a different veiw And nothing else matters..... Never cared for what they say...... Never cared for games they play.... Never cared for what they do..... Never cared for what they know.... But I know....... (and i forgot the rest)

most of their lyrics show how they feel about the world(...and justice for all), or a story about about how someone might feel(dyers eve). personally i don't think they focus on singing as much as they focus on instruments. a lot of metal bandsdo that unless it's death metal.

So what about Iron Maiden? I personally like Bruce Vocally more then James. It's an opainian. I think James is more grundish. Kinda deeper. I would say the world would come to an end, songs like.... Dancing Through Sunday(AFI), Death of Seasons(AFI), Any Iron Maiden song. Iron Maiden are in the Prime of their carrer. In fact, they played a consert in Africa where no one could afford tickets, for free like a week a go. In flight 6-6-6.

Bruce has a way better range than James has, and without Iron Maiden, James and Lars would have never formed Metallica. I thought it was kinda weird seeing the members of Iron Maiden wearing their own band t-shirts on Flight 666, though. I understand wearing a t-shirt of your favorite band while playing on stage, but not wearing a t-shirt of your own band on stage. Maiden still rules, though.
