Basically, make it similar to Toontown's or Clubpenguin's chat for Disney.
Don't filter OUT what people can't say, filter in what they CAN say.
Like put all the words of a few dictionaries in a list, and any words inappropriate won't go in the list. Any word not in the list will be replaced with something random in a different font like:
POTATOS
BLOX
CHIPS
TEAPOTS
etc.
Or for the most part, make it so anyone without 13+ has this system.
And anything that 13+ people say, goes through the filter for the 13- people.
Brilliant idea yes?

This might slow down chatting because Roblox has to use there overworking servers to check all them filters. I say, just make it a option where the owner makes there OWN chatbox or chatgui screen. |

There's a sort of flaw in this plan. They can't hear what we're saying? Is there a button at the end that lets you switch to safe chat? I use the GUI safe chat to communicate with them specifically so I can hear them and they can hear me, but if it's typing they may never hear us. |

Unnecessary? Really? That's your reason? They have added Car Seats, Ambient Occlusion (Corner Shadows), Wedges, Contests, and so much other 'Unnecessary' updates to Roblox. This, if anything, would be revamping the safe-chat to where we can ACTUALLY communicate thoughts and ideas, and not just 'Hello'.

They can get around that sort of filter, Treticle. What if (inb4ban) a safe chatter said master bait? Those words are in the dictionary and aren't offensive, are they? |

Really? It worked for other games? Does that still mean it's good? There would be as much swearing as there was on the type chat, firstly. Then you probably couldn't use complex, safe words that ROBLOX forgot to add to the dictionary. |
